I finally found a pic of a TDF with aero bridges painted in body color. I looks great. I'd ask for it if had to spec one https://www.instagram.com/p/BBXRYBVyBiC/
Bonhams today! What started in Arizona is continuing in Paris! Prices are becoming more realistic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
dcmetro- are you sure it's painted in the body paint? it looks like a matte finish bridge instead BUT perhaps others can chime in...nice find nonetheless!
Realistic ? IMHO realism is a relative concept. The RM Paris 599 GTO was Euro spec. and had 41,000 KM (25,476 Miles) on it. That is simply HUGE mileage by US standards on a 2011 model GTO. While I'm not familiar with Euro 599 GTO prices I am familiar with US spec 599 GTO prices. Fact is that the RM Arizona GTO that sold for $770K USD (with prem.) just last Friday was US spec. and had approx. 1500 miles on it and was white/black roof/black wheels (its debatable whether this is a very desirable spec. although it was certainly a beautiful GTO). Just thought you should look at the Fchat 599 GTO US Marketplace thread for a bit more info. on prices. I don't think you will find any US GTO owners that will disagree that the RM Paris GTO mileage is extremely high for US standards. In fact I know of no GTO that has EVER been for sale in the US with anything above approx. 10K miles. I don't have to tell you that mileage is a huge monster issue for F car owners and I'm NOT condoning the fact that most US spec GTO's are rarely driven more than 1K miles per year. Just pointing out that the Paris GTO is an extreme outlier with respect to mileage. As I stated in the thread I mentioned above in the 599 section - had the Paris GTO has 10K KM what would it have sold for ? 700K EU ? How about 5K KM ? 750K EU ? What about 2.5KM ? 800K EU ? Not to belabor the obvious, you get the point.
ilikefastcars, that stripe is really intriguing. You posted pictures of this car a few weeks ago, and yesterday you posted pics of the same car with a stripe. Again , I'm confused !
due to a lucky coincidence and an exception in the logistics process I was able to see the car and take some pictures before the stripe was painted on her .
Agreed!! I'm actually surprised by the significant difference in visual effect that is seen with the bridge "covers" painted body color vs. black.
Hard to tell if those aero bridge pieces are painted body matte color or matte CF. I don't care for the look.
Nor do I. Strangely it seems all the carbon has been painted over (though can't see the back). The carbon is IMO a key part of the tdf's "signature". Shame to lose it.
I agree Camlet1. The aero bridge pieces have a small indent on them, I think I saw a car where they had just this area painted body color and I thought it was very interesting and I think I liked it.
Being prepared for delivery... Couldn't take full shots of the car as the area was crowded with tools etc plus the lift was in the way... i'll try later to get some proper shots. Stunning colour combination. On another note, I'm surprised Ferrari went with the Pirelli P Zero Corsa System for the TDF judging by the average feedback it has received over the years?
I about the $ 770k Arizona car. Take off the premium and the owner received under $ 700k. There are a couple of cars on sale here in Europe at around 600k with very low mileage. And they are not moving. I fully agree with your comments re mileage but you can't deny the market is no longer going up. Bonhams auction yesterday was really difficult. The speculators who started buying cars with debt will soon panic and it will amplify the issue. Now the big hope is the Chinese. This low mileage thing is not always desireable. A well sorted f40 with 35k kms is a much better car than a garage queen that has not been moved. The garage queen will cause constant problems till it has been sorted.
