Yes, she has them as well, on the left fender it was corrected in 2007, but the hairline cracks are just in the paint, on the right side she still had some minor.
What we did in 2007, we made a small alu support in the form of a "L" which was then glued into the Corners.

Thanks for the flowers, I tried my best, though I used her a lot which means more use than just a Garage queen, she had many, many stone chips, my initial plan was to have her repainted with 100t Km on the Odo, as we know it turned out differently.

    Fantastic.

BTW, I was standing there in the parking lot of the restaurant on the way to St Moritz (driving the red DD) when that dent happened.

As I saw the lady from Zurich climb into her Murci, I thought to myself:

Hmm, that lady is going to hit Raymond's Countach...

I turned & uttered the now-immortal words to my wife:

"That lady is going to hit Raymond's Countach".

A few seconds later, we heard a crunch.

    The lady hit Raymond's Countach!

My wife turned & said to me:

"That lady just hit Raymond's Countach!".

In true Top Gear spirit, we took off, and 3 minutes later we were doing 120 on the Autobahn :)

BTW, my coach-builder applauds the repair-work done.

We have been drawing inspiration from library images of the original production process of the cars, and what has struck me the most is how truly hand-built these cars are, its really something. They were fettled, finessed and literally hammered into shape.

I notice that the spats were fitted then removed again, in the original process.

Another aliment almost every Countach I see has besides the hairline cracks is bowed sills (likely from pressure caused by jacking the car inappropriately). We have straightened those properly, and I think from a profile dead-on side view that little detail makes all the difference in the world.

Ultimately, every car has its own character, & detailed fitment

One thing interesting about the Countach, is that the car was built at Sant Agata, unlike the Miura which was built in Turin and assembled at Sant Agata.

RHD DD in Malaysia registered WAR86, thought to be the ex-Giallo AUTOCAR magazine test-car repainted & re-trimmed, but I can't confirm that.

Lovely Argento/Rosso LP500S next to it

The cracks are very slight, but are indeed there. We are actually working on them right now...........

When Raymond sent us GLA12997, we inspected it carefully and drove it some distance.

Upon inspection, the car showed very well, and I for one was hesitant about tearing it apart and doing a total restoration, but in the end, @ 30 years after the car was built seemed like the right time to do this. Done right, hopefully it'll last much more than another 30 years.

Published by Orbis in 1985 "The Car" magazine came in weekly issues and each one was dedicated to a certain make and model of car.

Issue No.40 featured Lamborghini's Countach Quattrovalvole (DD).

October 1985, Australian magazine Modern Motor published this cover article entitled "A lot of bull" on the new carburetted QV

The car was Rosso Siviglia with color-coded wheels, and featured a Nero interior. It also featured the rear safety panel as seen on cars sent to the USA/Canada/Middle East.

The middle of the magazine featured a Marlboro cigarette-sponsored pull-out poster.

I had that poster on my wall from new for many years (along with every other Countach poster I could lay my hands on in the 1980's...).
