The Michael Schumacher Career/Injury/Recovery Thread

AP has picked up the entire interview now, the comments were much more expansive.

He was recalling their time together, the growth of their families, and at the end asked for the audience to applaud Schumacher's accomplishments.

Nicely put, I thought.....it was in response to a reporter's question, it seems...

 

Holy crap! Wow indeed!.....

And 'four people are under investigation for manslaughter'.... Really? Reads like a terrible accident to me, not sure they can get anyone jailed. But then it is Italy, so who knows!

I read the AP transcript of the LDM comments and they didn't seem that ominous to me, certainly not like the final goodbye is near or anything like that. I think he was just in a reflective state of mind. Of course we have no idea of Michael's appearance or true condition so we can only continue to speculate...and hope.

I agree. He's definitely lost all his muscles and weight. Probably no hair left on his head due to the operation, and perhaps, just little growing here and there. Really skinny. I wonder if he's being fed by a tube?

Sometimes, i just wished it ended for him the moment he crashed into the rocks.

 

The sad thing is that if he did not have his vast sums of cash he probably would not be in this sad state of mind and body...

Strange comment.

You really don't need vast sums of money to be the victim of an unfortunate skying accident.

 

last year I was in a coma for 4 weeks - even that short of a time I had to be in rehab to learn to walk again - will take a year to get all my strength back so I can't imagine what kind of shape he is in

 

I read this as if it had not been for his $ the docs would have ended this a long time ago

Seen today on another website:

He regained consciousness in June 204 and began his long rehabilitation. As of now, he remains in a wheelchair and has paralysis and severe memory issues."

I don't know is this is true, or just speculations.

 

If true this would actually be encouraging. However I doubt the accuracy for several reasons:
- nobody else reported this
- unlikely given the severity of the brain injury
- the source didn't quite convince me once I followed that link

 

Yep, I know, but since some of the "fans" think they are entitled to informations, this site obliged them by giving something to chew on.

 

What he is saying,anyone else would be dead. Not able to be artificially kept alive for so long.

 

They did it to the former Prime Minister of Israel. And then he died.

 

I remember that.Sharon. No shortage of bad medical management in the world when in awe of a great personality.

 

WOW. A sincere congratulations for pulling through and of course wishes on a full recovery! Truly in awe of people who go through things like this!

Thanks so much - the interesting beginning of the story is that I woke at 3:30 in the morning and could not breath - drove 20 miles to country hospital in the mountains - left the car door open and running and ran to the emergency room where I promptly died. Fortunately they had just hired an new emergency room doctor from University of Miami - he gave me a 20% chance of getting me going again and went to work - broke 4 ribs and a front tooth but pulled it off - after transfering me to a larger hospital, he said he went outside and prayed for me - what a guy
