the garage queen will most likely be bought by someone who is all going garage queen it therefore those issues will never be realized and are therefore largely irrelevant.

Thanks for posting the pictures and after seeing the engine bay I too will definitely get the carbon fiber engine bay option. It looks fantastic in pictures and I can only imagine how much better it looks in person!

    100% agreed.

From a "Simple" 599 GTB (It was available but extremely rare) to a TDF , the engine compartiment in carbon is a MUST. It looks so much better than plastic.

Details make perfection , and perfection is no detail !

Fully agree. The normal plastic is not worthy of such a car.

Bigthree, now that you've had the tdf for a while have you any comments about the car whether they be positive or negative? If you could change anything with the car what might that be...? :)

Well I have made my comments on the carbon engine bay.

The other thing that requires a lot of thought is that the tdf has more visible carbon elements than any Ferrari before. While stripes look really cool on the 599 GTO and the 458 on the tdf it is tricky. The diagonal bonnet stripe is problematic. It looks estetically weird. And the longitudinal stripe in two colours makes the car very busy. Depends what you want. When you have the car infront of you it looks just perfect without the stripes. Many owners have understood that. It has much more presence than the 599 GTO and that's why it does not need stripes to enhance it. So if you want stripes you need to think carefully about it.

Also the carbon has a blue tint. Does not work with all colours.

I left away the passenger speedo and rev display! Don't think it's a good idea they always know what's going on :)))

A must is the rear camera. Car has a massive blind spot. Where the rear side window is. Camera has a wide angle option. That really helps.

Most colours work on the car, even black despite what has been said here. So wide choice there. And all wheel options work, just depends on what you like. The car is retro without being old fashioned.

Inside the Matt carbon fits well with the alcantara and tecnical cloth. I would not go for normal leather as it does not really go with the aggressive character of the car. Then rather make the seat stripes in a different contrasting colour.

So spec and be happy as it is one mighty fine car!

Yes, carbon better than plastic in the tdf engine bay and should be standard. However, the treatment above the two large ECUs just above the bumper is not that attractive IMHO. The large open mesh exposing the boxes will have to be covered if you lightly rinse the engine bay during maintenance. They were stylishly covered before just below the open vent in the hood at that position.

Still wondering what the purpose is for the post-filtered air intake tubes in front of the throttle bodies that head to the sides and back. My guess continues to be for in-cabin intake sound but there should be some kind of filter on these since they go directly into the engine intakes. Maybe just a necessary vacuum pick-off. But for what? Love the mysteries!

In reality the boxes look good. The car looks stunning from behind.

Think there is some confusion perhaps. I was referring to the Engine Control Units (ECUs) as "boxes". They are just in front of the engine behind the front bumper in the engine compartment photos. Specifically, they are sitting on top of the radiator shroud between the air box covers. There are two and they are prominent as there is open mesh above them. The berlinetta has them covered (actually there are four under the cover in the berlinetta). See the picture below. The intake hoses I referred to are circled in yellow below. Sorry for any confusion. Wasn't referring to the rear of the car.
