Not meant to divert from the tred...but just to share...
I believe It's much easier deciding which car to buy rather than which cars to sell or trade!
I had tough time, more emotional, deciding whether or not to sell my 599 and my 16M.
Well, I sold the 16M, it's more worthy for a collector, and I traded in the 599 HGTE.
I wanted to diverse my driving experience.
I wanted to halt my car quest endeavor and

here is my new car stable:

    1) 03 Ferrari 575 F1 "Kept"
    2) 012 Maserati QP "kept"
    3) 016 Porsche Targa 4GTS, 7 speed Manuel "New"
    4) 016 Mclaren 570S "New"

I hope, I am making sense to you guys!

    Cheers,

    Muftah

Great stable! Which one would you say you'd take out on a Sunday just to have fun with on twisty roads? If that's your thing that's is :)

Each one is different but all are fun to drive.
I haven't driven the McLaren 570S long enough, it's my first Mclaren..but I could tell the car is very playful, it's nimble and agile.
In my opinion, It's very attractive looking car, especially in black, and very nice interior too.
It's less showy and easier to drive than the Aventador, it's Turbo, the sport exhaust sound is good but not near a Ferrari sound.
You will love it in twisty roads, you should go and test one soon!

    Good luck

So I thought I'd let you all know I ended up getting a coupe 2011 ferrari 458 with roughly 18000 miles on it and finished in Grigio Silverstone. Out of all the cars I drove (and I drove quite a few!) this one left me with the biggest smile on my face. I love the car, although there are some annoying design quirks and outdated dash options, most notably the Bluetooth function isn't letting me stream music, only phone calls. The nav takes me in weird directions too. You'd argue that you aren't supposed to be listening to music in a ferrari, and it doesn't matter where you go in it, but I like having music on longer trips. The indicator buttons on the steering wheel are hard to get used to, and have the opposite function of what's intuitive (press quickly for continuous blinking and hold for lane change blinking...), also because I can't seem to be able to adjust the seat height so that I actually see the tachometer or the indicators without bending my head down slightly I am not yet comfortable driving it in heavy traffic. My car has the led gear change indicator on the steering wheel, though. Not sure why the car insists on starting in auto. I have looked through the manual but can't find a way to turn this off. Anyway, aside from these little quirks I am absolutely LOVING the car. It's such great fun, sounds really really good with just the stock exhaust (I guess this is why you don't see too many of them with 3rd party exhausts?). I think the performance and build quality leap from the f430 to this car is among the most brutal ones in a sportscar brand's history and I'm excited to once again have the privilege of owning a ferrari. Thanks for all your thoughts and opinions, suggestions and comments in this thread!

    Awesome. Enjoy! :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    PS:
Don't be tempted to do a "batmobile" type thing with black wheels - it looks great as it is now. ;)

Congrats bro , pretty rig man. Great choice and welcome. Ps. The car always starts in auto mode . If you like you can open the valves permanently for a more aggressive sound at lower rpms. Also we like interior pics too.

I thought you weren't for real at all with the first post. Apologies.

I normally like grey or dark wheels but I love those.

    Enjoy the car!

Chris is a good guy, we've had a lot of asshattery here lately. I would be lying if I didn't say I too had some doubts like Chris at first.

As you can see, he mans up and is a class act.

Cheers and drive in good health!

Love the color choice! Are those silver calipers? Hard to tell as I think there's some filter/tint put on the photo.

Thanks guys! The calipers are silver. Been driving her all day. Lots of cops everywhere, though. Within an hour of driving, my girlfriend and I counted 7 cops who were writing up people on the side of the road. Guess they are busy reaching their quotas before the Super Bowl tomorrow :) my previous cars have mostly been in a little more attention grabbing colors and I genuinely believe the grey makes me less interesting to the cops, whereas the more vivid colors such as red and yellow seem to egg them on. I'm enjoying the anonymity. Definitely turns less heads than a yellow gallardo, but when it does you know it's someone who appreciates the car for the right reason, an incredible accomplishment by Ferrari.

Thanks for sharing this interesting data. Just curious, do you have the number for McLaren in 2015?

    Congratulations! Lovely spec!

Btw- many people change the exhaust. My advice is wait a little while and see what you think. My one real gripe with the stock setup is the programming of the exhaust flaps in race mode. Its too easy to trigger the flaps to open/close in race so in traffic you'll get on/off/on/off exhaust sound. If it bothers you there are some ways to handle this. I went with the Novitec reprogram which just keeps the flaps open in race mode. Hello! :)

Thanks Caeruleus11! I actually think the stock exhaust sounds really really good (and I haven't said that since the f355! The 360 needed a tubi or capristo to spring to life and the f430 just seemed too deep and growly by default to be able to extract the true high pitched symphony. But with the 458 I feel like they got the sound right again. Yes, Ive noticed the valves open very suddenly, and especially in race it seems. There's no way of feathering it in, it's either closed or open. I don't really mind, though. I could do a valve bypass operation on it, though like you did! I kind of like having it be able to crawl around at low RPMs in a civilized way, however (although your setup seems more advanced since it's only bypassed in race). Overall I'm loving the car. I drove a huracan a few days after getting my 458 and thought it seemed very similar in terms of power. I like the interior of the 458 more than the H, it felt a little Mickey mouse-y.. Too many colors and buttons maybe? The sound didn't impress me as much although it felt more "raw" and brutal, while the 458's exhaust note seems more orchestrated. Not a fan of the indicator setup on either car but I'm getting used to the ones in my 458 now. Small issues in such amazing machines, though. Anyway, driving the huracan made me realize that I made the right decision for me.

Is this for real? A couple of weeks in Ethiopia will put all of these first world 'problems' in perspective.

Just buy something and go take a driver's school or 3 and learn to really exploit what you have. All the boredom will go away.
