I think so, I am looking at a box on the floor with eight Champion plugs, there are four in each cardboard box, modern packaging I suspect!!
I checked again in my owners manual, and the plugs they list are the N 7 GY's. There is no reference to any other heat range, etc. I have looked on several web sites and cannot find them. Any Idea where these can be found. Regards, WilliamR
All Champion plugs used to be sold in the cellophane package no matter the overall packaging. Many Ferraris of the period came with plugs packaged that way. Some of the parts manuals even have them pictured that way.
The first owner of my car (I am the second owner) did not work on the car himself and my tool kits appear to be totally unused. Both Flashman's and Rifledriver's comments leave open the possibility that the spare plugs in the jack kit may have sometimes been provided from the factory without boxes and cellophane. My tool kits argue for this too. I stiil may try to buy some boxed ones, just because that is what is shown in the Parts Diagram.
Guys I just bought that set of N7Y in the wrapping. I keep two for myself so anybody need some let me know. My cost is $3.25 US a piece. + actual shipping to you.
My quest for a complete toolroll, and to complete my jack kit started a few weeks ago. Fchat member Steven sent me the missing jack ratchet in the right color and for a friendly price. The ratchet has travelled (very well packed !) half the globe and has made aquaintance with the jack. They get along fine. Thanks Steven ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll have to look and see what the black jack kit I have has for spark plugs. Reading some of this it might help me decipher what car it's actually for. I know being a black jack it's either a 328 or later 308 correct? It's got two plugs in the cellophane wrapped boxes but I didn't pay any attention to what plugs they were.
Not sure if any of you are in on this or not but this is going cheap at the moment. Still has a few days left though so I suspect it'll get up there. Not mine, just noticed it tonight. I thought it was a buy-it-now price and I was gonna snap it up. That's the consensus here about the jack colour I believe. Early QVs still had yellow jack kits being delivered with them. But I'm totally lost about the spark plug box. Spare parts manual shows two with cellophane boxes but we all know how accurate these factory documents are
Watching since 24 hours ago! Only nitpicking observation is the jack ratchet plastic sheath is having a different shade of gray than the wheel lug wrench one and I don't see "rotor" on bulb holder
I am wondering about the blue pliers in this tool kit I have now. I have researched a bit and see that this may be for the 1984 308QV. Does that seem to be correct? Thanks, Jeff Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd say it's lost. See my previous post #237, they are just glued in place with the help of some friction.
Blue handled pliers are highly debatable as I have said in my original post about pliers. So far I have not seen multiples of them to sustain the originality claim. There is also a yellow sheath one that looks similar to the common red sheathed one. Just looking at the two that you have just posted, they are of different plastic handle type and different blue colours as well albeit very similar. While for the Dino black all metal one, the red sheath handled one, the Kravm moulded handled one and the Ferrari lettered moulded handled one, there are many examples spotted in different countries. And it's always curious to me why a single tool is still wrapped in plastic bag while others are not, in the same tool roll. Lastly, that's a very rare Utema N.1200 14/14mm combination wrench you've got!
Except the pliers, this is a tool roll for later QVs. We can never ascertain the cut off time so even a 83 can have this roll IMHO.
Hi Piezo, The blue color of these pliers is more aqua or teal than my photos show. In "real life", these look very much like the blue in maxflynn's post above. I almost threw the black plastic piece away, but then realized it must is the handle for the window crank! I'd be interested in hearing if others have these blue pliers in their 308 kit. Hi Piezo, As far as I know, the kit is original. I have seen another with the same blue pliers. Mine was in the plastic bag the whole time, unused. That could be why the handle is a different blue colour (no discolouration from oil perhaps?) The 14 combo wrench is the only one stamped Utema, all the others are stamped Ferrari. All unsused.
Jeff, Is the black plastic handle for the "z" style handle or the "t" style. What year is that for? I have a t handle.
David, The plastic handle is for the emergency window crank that is more or less "z" shaped. I was relieved to see your blue pliers, which appear to be identical to mine mine, and the Utema 1200 wrench. My kit, like yours, only has that one wrench which has no Ferrari markings, so I thought it might be non-original, but now I see it the real deal. Thanks, Jeff
