I don't know if i have made the right choice selling the Speciale.. :-S
I have went true some heartache this winter waiting for my new 488 GTB and missing the great S.
I would be nice to hear any who made the same journey and if the are satisfied with the new 488 GTB in compare to there the Speciale.
    Delivery in march 2016.

I made the same decision....let's hope we both made the right one. In term of driveability, I am quite sure the 488 will be more refined and could definitely be a daily driver. I put a total of 350 miles on the Speciale and couldn't stand seeing it sit in my garage collecting dust.

I asked the same question, have the 458 spider, getting the 488 spider hopefully soon, have the Cali T, no sound practically, much different car, I do enjoy the Cali T however not the same (maybe not a fair comparison)...good luck let us know

Have to say I have driven the Scud, that is even more amazing in sound but I enjoy the 458 much more, I don't have the S though...

I have 5,000 miles on my Speciale and it's only 5 months old. You need to drive more.

Jasone, I heard issues with windshield cracks and chips easily with 458 and 458 Speciale...is that the case with you?

Not fair to compare the Special for the 488GTB however I think it really begs the question about what you are exactly looking for in a mid engine sports car. I think if you want something softer/quieter and more usable DD then 488 but if you are looking for that overwhelming BANG experience that can be draining over a long period of time (maybe) then Speciale :). If anything I am looking to you to give us the details on where the two cars line up. Pretty sure that once the 488 is in the garage you will feel a bit better about the decision.

Just change the tires to sport cup 2s and the car will outperform the Speciale. I'm sure of it. Even with stock tires it outperforms the Speciale but I think if they are both running on the same rubber it becomes an even better comparison ...I too am awaiting my 488 in April. I did, however, just drive one and I can tell you it's a phenomenal car. Still have a 458 italia and love it but I think once I drive them both back to back I'll really see the difference in favor of the 488 overall.

Congrats! What did you order with it, options and interior? I think in the future the 488 and 488 Speciale models we will enjoy the turbo sounds a bit more...starting to grow on me...

I had the windshield protected with clearplex for a long trip we took with 12 other Ferraris. 2 other cars had cracks / chips but mine was fine. I don't think it has anything to do with the car or windshield. Any windshield would crack when driving 140MPH behind a line of 12 other cars.

Thanks, now I feel even worse. LOL. I went through the same thing when I sold my Scud but after the first ride in the Speciale I completely forgot about it. No doubt the 488 will not compete on the track but I do not track my road cars so that isn't even a consideration for me any longer.
