Sure. Didn't you see my car at a cars and coffee once? Did I have the seats in it then? If it still had the black HREs then it didn't because I did the F430 Challenge wheels at the same time.
Reply appreciated! My sympathies on those fractures! Are all those orthopedic traumas from biking? Good to know that the racing seats lower you a bit... I weigh the same as you but only 5'7". I'll have to find a fellow owner with these to try out and see if it compromises my view. When you mention "long drives" what type of distance are you talking? Considering where I live, it's going to be a "long drive" to meet up with any other owners or to find any roads with good twisties.
I'm 5'8" and the lower position is fine... Better. It's not just lower, it makes the seating position more natural somehow.
I did see your car. I was a little more focused on the fact that your car had a MT like mine, and the fact that it was the first MT 360 I'd seen in Denver other than mine. I don't remember the seats. I kind of always thought the Daytona's were more comfortable than the race seats. Not until I read you post about your back issues did I think the race seats could be an option for comfort. I'll look forward to checking them out. Hopefully Spring will come soon!
I thought about it and I'm sure that they didn't have the seats when you saw it. At that point, I had all the parts amassed but hadn't begun the work to finish the full CS conversion that the previous owner had started. Spring will be here soon as when I don't have kid obligations, I'll try to make it. I did make it to cars and coffee a few weeks ago with it.
On the subject of race seats and taller folks - I'm 6'3" 225 lbs and fit quite nicely in the large size race seat in my F430. My wife who is 5'4" 120 lbs (oops, maybe should have left that out) also fits very nicely and is comfortable in the seats. I think the support they give is key to comfort.

You have my dream 430... That color in a 6mt is drop dead gorgeous! Thanks for sharing (and let me know when you're ready to sell it
The yellow car is a Fiat Dino. It has been here in NZ for a long time. It is a nice car. There are a few here in our country. - Cheers.
Sorry, I'm only now seeing this. Yes, traumatic injuries from my pro cycling career. Long drives are usually 5 to 6 hours. I have spent all day in the cars but I don't think that I did more than 5 to 6 hours in one stretch. A few years ago I did a road trip down the california coast in the F40 and it was pretty comfortable. Each of the last three years, I have done an 800 mile three day rally through the Colorado mountains in the 550 and 348 Challenge and I certainly felt the most comfortable in the 348 Challenge. If you're in South Dakota, I think you're only 5 to 7 hours from Denver.

It's great to hear you're able to enjoy your stable on long rides. I look forward to making my first of many in the 360 in a couple months. Unfortunately Denver is about 930 miles away from me as I'm on the NE border of North Dakota and MN... Although I do have some relatives in Denver and seeing some family and some great Fcars at a Denver C&C wouldn't be the worst reason in the world for a road trip to the Rockies. After reading yours and others perspectives on the racing seats, I think I'll be adding them to my eBay search list. Thanks!
Yes, it is a great colour all right. We just love it. Initially we would have liked to find a red one, but are so glad our car turned up for sale at the time. 6 speeds are rare here in NZ too.
