Sounds better here than other videos that I've seen.

Not bad. The shifts seem pretty vicious and the sound is pretty good

Really it sounds good to you guys? I think it's still terrible. The rev to redline is too quick and it doesn't give itself a chance to have that high pitch scream. It does sound better than all the other videos I've heard. Sorry not impressed.

Sounds good to me. It's not the high pitch howl of old but I like the new bark

The torque coming out of the corners is amazing, though the first lap may have been on cold tires.

Sounds like it was short-shifted most of the video.

Sounds good in this video. I might consider ordering one but its at least a 12 month wait for me.

Didn't sound that good when I drove it. This is with a GoPro and mic right next to exhaust however. It is amazingly stable and fast around the track. Don't know how anyone wouldn't be impressed with the performance of this car. I can't wait to get mine ~ 8 weeks away

I look at another video from Capristo, and this 488 sounds as good as the Speciale with Capristo exhaust.
When the valve is closed on moderate acceleration though.

It would be awesome if the 488 sounded like that TO THE DRIVER with the windows up as in the video. But it doesn't. 458 doesn't either.

    External mic.

What do you think Carlo and StevenB?

I like the sound but it's not going to be anywhere close to the actual interior volume. But yes, neither is the 458. I always prefer to hear the cars from an outside which is why it makes so much fun driving with Carlo. I would like to hear the drive by with this exhaust

The 488's engine sound is effectively piped into the cabin so
it does sound quite loud inside, also because of the fact that
the engine's sound is now much more prevalent in the mid to low-range
levels which further allows it to resonate via the chassis.

Not the musical symphony of overtones, frequency range and dynamics of the old, and while I loooooove the new design and evolution of the 458, the NA v8 sound is one of the major reasons why I love ferraris, and sadly it just isn't there with the 488. I believe we have heard enough 488s in videos to know it's not going to have that high scream that we all love and associate with the ferraris. A technological achievement no doubt, and beautiful timeless design, but a voice that's no longer complimenting those aspects. I realize they are doing this because they are hitting the limit of NA engines with regards to emissions and I guess we just have to get used to it. Still, I wonder what it would have been like if the 488 was a hybrid that had a smaller NA engine and an electric motor to boost it instead of turbos.

Interesting. The sound reminds me of my Speciale which is to say a bit disappointing vs the normal coupe and spider.

    May have to go back!

Two comments; how about warming up the car before getting on it ... glad not my car. Secondly, truly sound is in "the ear of the beholder". it sounds coarse, and imo is no where near the melodic sound of my 458. Best

Not interested in adding the exhaust? I really like the bliss car. Sounds amazing. If you want to go back, there is still the original ecu for sale.

Sounds OK - but not that typical Ferrari scream.

Every Audi TT RS or Volkswagen Golf MK 6/7 R with modified exhausts sounds equal.
