Can you get them without the stripes?

 

Yes. All Shelby's have a stripe delete option.

 

Actually, the stripes are an option, not a standard item that you would have to delete.

 

I have put about 300 miles on the car this weekend and....

The car makes a great sound. Nothing like any car I have driven. With the exhaust valves open, it can be pretty loud at times but it sounds great.

The car has a much better driving feel than the GT500 I owned. In track mode, the car feels very sure of itself. Its pretty cold here so didn't push it too hard.

The shifter is not as good as the GT500 shifter which I think is pretty good. No difficulties but I wasn't expecting it.

I got the track package so no real amenities to like or complain about. The GT350 seats are firm and the thigh bolsters are pretty stiff. The technology package seats look to be wider but less supportive.

From a cosmetic perspective, the finish quality is pretty good but I would pass on the stripes if I had to do it all over again.

The clutch on the car is very soft and took some time to get used to. The car is slow off the line because torque doesn't really kick in until around 3.5k rpms but I didn't buy it to drag race. Looks like the car will do high 11's with a tune and DR's with good track prep, maybe mid 11's.

Too bad weather won't allow too much more driving but I am looking into some different wheels and tires for the winter.

Contact MGW and find out if their GT shifter will fit the Shelby. Even if it doesn't, they probably have a Shelby GT350 shifter in development or prototype stage.

I have a 2014 GT500 and didn't like the shifter, particularly when trying to shift into 2nd. Switched over to a MGW shifter. Night and day difference. The OEM Ford shifter looks like a cheap toy and feels rough compared to the MGW shifter.

It is a stunning car with paint design with real heritage. Out of curiosity, why would you skip the stripes?

 

The stripes are pretty cheap looking, IMO. The two stripes are really just one stripe with a narrower white stripe down the middle. Not much effort put forth.

 

How long is this car going to be in production?

Trying to budget accordingly lol....

 

Supposedly 2015-2017, they are in the middle of 2016 production now, so probably the last '17s will be built end of summer 2017

 

Is there a set number or just being built to order?

 

The Mustang 6 forum says 5000 GT350s and 500 GT350Rs per year. I don't know how accurate that is, but it jibes with what I remember my dealer telling. The article also stated production will run for 5 years.

Fwiw, mustangg6 forum is often quite wrong. I will give them some credit, they are pretty close on the production numbers, but this car is meant to hold us over till the 2018? GT500 comes out. So therefore the GT350 ends when the GT500 begins. Supposedly....

 

The new GT(40) body was designed around the ecoboost motor, not the other way around.

 

I was referring to the 2005-2006 Ford GT.
