I shall get some pics next time out of storage. Should be next week. I have never seen that photo from "Motor" before but I know when it was taken. Lamborghini Melbourne were opening a new showroom and they wanted a range of Lamborghini's on display, so they contacted some owners to bring them over. My wing was off at that time getting repaired. That photo is prior / after the opening event with them all in the service area. Attached is a photo of where my car was on the night of the event. That dealer, Zagame, now owns the Melbourne distribution for Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, Morgan, Aston Martin & Rolls Royce! Thanks for sharing. I think your car was UK-registered C 701 BYX - Robert can confirm - and, if so, it was featured in the Spring 1986 edition of High Performance magazine (below), which you can still get on Ebay: What Car High Performance Spring 1986 Countach Audi Quattro Sport | eBay Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I always wondered why this ridiculous Ansa "Sport" exhaust was never modified to use the original muffler supports. Since plumbing it onto the frame is outdated, in case of the QV you have even to destroy the heat shield behind the differential.
Agreed, Ive seen this with a few cars. This is exactly one of the many reasons we are not using the standard Ansa Sport or the other variants that exist in the market. As already posted, we manufactured a special system http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144449292-post1534.html with brackets to be added in situ during the mounting/mock-up process, that allows the unit to be affixed per the factory boxed muffler, using the original muffler supports, and without damaging the heat-shield. The finished result ought to be very satisfactory. I'll be sure to document its application with images when we get to that point. Hopefully both the look & the sound will make the effort worthwhile.
Whilst we are on the exhaust subject, here is DGM14753 from the factory archives (via QV engineer Marmiroli) that shows the air-box application & standard boxed muffler unit as Homologated for road use for the Downdraft. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sectioned, this illustration shows the (heavy & restrictive) unit most cars were fitted with. That said, its worth noting that by the advent of the DD, many cars were in fact delivered with a sports exhaust unit fitted, as I witnessed myself circa 1985 to 1988. There is a reason so many dispense with the boxed muffler unit, more pleasing sound notwithstanding. Its unfortunate though that the units developed in the past left a little to be desired, but I suspect this was for economic reasons. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hi Guys, the car was C740BYX, not C701 BYX. There is no way C701BYx would have so few Kms on the clock!!! Robert
Thank you for the guidance as always Robert, so here is C 740 BYX outside the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington Gardens, London, circa 1986 when fairly new. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The same Rosso Siviglia we were chatting about a few pages earlier, although, some of the images such as this one below were likely taken in the golden evening light, giving the car an orange hue. AFAIK, there was only one non-metallic red used for this variant of Countach. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Grazie! I have to say, Rosso Siviglia is my favorite color on a Countach next to Bianco Perlato. The photos never do it justice! Were there any Reds on the Countach that actually did have more of an orange hue?
I just got back the car tonight so I shall check on the weekend (I bought the magazine on eBay thank you) However I suspect it is not it as the rear fog light is on the other side? Image Unavailable, Please Login

Robert our resident RHD guru seems to think its another Rosso Siviglia/Bianco car. Interesting that the rear fog-light on your DD is on the left because the original factory application was on the side of the steering wheel for either LHD or RHD. BTW there is another Rosso Siviglia RHD Downdraft near you, this one has a Nero interior. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Was at a Cars and Coffee event late last year and recently, some kind soul posted this picture on Instagram. Wife loves it, as pretty rare to have a shot of me in the car. Yes, I'm the good looking chap, trying to act cool. . . . . R Image Unavailable, Please Login
