Hi - Just about to send my rear calipers off for refurbishment. Part of the service is to coat them but as some numpty previously painted mine red, does anyone know what is the correct colour is for them? Regards

Will he get rewarded by refinishing them with the correct finish if he ever gets the car judged or will his and and an equal car with red or yellow calipers both be considered the same?

Nice job and very affordable in my opinion. Have you ever used their service?

Not sure I understand your question.

Any incorrect finish is a deduction.

I had them repair/rebuild mine as my pass side rear leaked and peed brake fluid all over my 911. That was a subtle sign.

They did a great job, and turn around time was pretty good 2 weeks if I recall.

I hope it is well deserved. My calipers are there right now.

If you want to have it done in the EU, check out DinoParts here in Germany. They redid one of my calipers and it came back looking brand new, with a beautiful gold zinc finish.

Err, shouldn't they work as good as they did, if not better with new components?

You won't know until they are in service. I think it is important not to praise a product until the true quality is known otherwise it has no value and can be misleading.

Praise is given far too freely around here.

Eric at PMB couldn't have been nicer or more helpful when I rebuilt my own. Here is a pic of mine. Eric sold me all the components for $35 per caliper...Sweet. I used rattle can caliper paint. Rebuilding them yourself is a no-brainer.

Ah I see. Well his reputation is sound over here, used on a number of motoring programs, so lets hope so. Lets put it this way, they can't any worse than when I sent them as Im not sure they worked at all!

I use their services on every restoration that I do. I would highly recommend PMB.

When refurbishing the calipers has anyone used Ceramic pads? I can find rear but not front Ceramic. '82 308i

I got mine back from PMB. Included in the box were two bleed nipples for a different caliper and didn't fit my calipers. I sent him a note and he promptly sent the correct nipples. Also he paints rather than plates the pins and clips. I sent mine to a local plater for the correct finish. PMB says that plating customer pins, clips and springs is far too much hassle. All the little rusty parts are too hard to track so they don't do it. But the calipers do look beautiful!

Ive done the same with mine, took all the pins etc to my local plater. It does state that all of these items should be removed prior to sending the calipers.
