Ok guys, i am new to this forum. Besides stereo install description below i have a question i need help with. The stock radio has a USB female plug coming out the rear. I am guessing this is separate then the ones that have the 30 Pin Ipod connector? Please confirm. If true then i am **** out of luck adding a Bluetooth adapter like "tune to air" i am assuming. it seem all this plug does is charge the phone and pretty slow at that. Are there any other options besides doing over fm frequency's with this set up? I think it is designed for maybe adding music files via usb drive? pretty weak for 2010.....
    On to install....
I have done a good bit of research and i know i am about to get flamed becasue i want to listen to music form time to time and not the engine's music. So lets assume everyone is allowed their own opinion... that being said i just got done with my upgraded stereo and wanted to share it with you guys. I have had my 458 3 months, As we all know the stock radio is a POS but not a lot of options due to the way it is set up. So what i did was keep stock head unit, install a JL audio "clean sweep" that allows me to tie into stock radio and clean up the sound as well as add after market components. This clean sweep will have a new EQ that will be able to be plugged into it in the near future for even better tuning. It is being designed by JL now and will be released soon. I put new 5 1/4 inch maybe 6 1/2 inch, i already forget which size, JL C5 components in the door, and 4'' C5 in rear. Added a JL digital 900 watt 5 channel digital amp. Had a custom box built to house a JL 13'' sub as well as the amp. Almost done. It sounds great but per above i really want to stream music form my phone. short of that it really jams. The only thing left is that i am going to try and integrate a arm rest into the sub grill so that it is more comfortable driving and hopefully will give a stock look and flow into the sub install. No idea why there is no arm rest for right arm but it is truly a missing element to driving comfort in my opinion. After that i may add a emblem to the grill for a nice touch. I got a pretty good match to the stock interior colors and it looks pretty good in my opinion. The box was hard to do but worth it if you like to crank up the tunes form time to time. So if anyone has any feedback on the USB issue i have or would like a box built, we made a template so that we could reproduce it for others if they wanted one. just let me know. Feel free to blow me up for listening to the stereo as well, i am sure someone out their feels my pain and would like some options for a better sounding stereo.

Nice vid of Brian's install. That's next level audio. I did not want to put any holes in firewall or loose any space in the already small boot so I kept all components in cab. Looks good though.
