My 430 spider originally came from California where it was driven a lot (18,000 miles in 7 years) with the top down. The leather had gotten faded and dry and some areas had been "touched up" a couple of times. This resulted in the black stitching in several areas being dyed tan. I realized how faded and discolored the leather had gotten when I removed an arm rest pad and saw the underside.

I decided to go all in and replace all of the upholstery with the exception of the dash and pillars. The upholsterer and I brainstormed, looked at several photos online and decided to add some custom touches including piping, black accents and embroidery on the head rests. I also went from all tan Daytona seats to tan with black stripes. I think it turned out beautifully, though some purists may disagree...LOL! The seats are incredibly soft and supple, and of course, that fresh leather aroma......ahhh!

A big THANK YOU to Richard at Concours Interiors in Naples for his exceptional work and to Eric at F1 Imports and Exotics who disassembled and reassembled everything and also took care of the sticky bits and some additional service items. I highly recommend both.

    Great job.

It was nice before too, but this is just fantastic.

I like the black armrest/handle on the door. Keep it looking fresh and provides contrast.

The color difference you see in the photos is pretty accurate. It really looked yellowish!

He certainly does! The car was at the Naples Cars on 5th show yesterday among at least 100 Ferraris and I couldn't believe how many people stopped to take photos of the embroidered headrests and seats.

Thank You SCKOMS, for the kind words. It was a real pleasure to work with you and come up with a new, custom one of a kind design for your 430. The black accents really make the AutoLux Saddle Leather Pop!!

The leather looks very light, like our '04 360 which is crema. And your "before" photos look just like our interior now. Ours has not been re-dyed, but there is fading/wear of the crema color in places, exposing a similar but yellowish color underneath. I work with leather a lot, and my estimation is that the leather starts out vat dyed with the yellowish color, then the crema top coat is applied. Our doors, dash, and behind the seat are perfect.

    So a couple of questions:

-What is(was) the original leather color of your car?

-Did you have the faded/worn areas I described?

-Does the new leather match everything else?

Thanks, and BTW, the interior of your car is spectacular.

    Cheers, Andy

    Thanks for the compliment.

The original color was the classic Ferrari tan. The underside of the arm rest pads when removed were a spot on match for the new leather.

I had severe wear on the bolsters and general drying and cracking. The upper surfaces of the door panels were faded much more than the lower areas. The seats were really faded as well, so I think the yellow look was just that...fading from UV exposure.

The entire interior is recovered. Only the black dash leather and tan pillars were not redone, so everything matches.

It took about 7 weeks. Everything had to be taken apart carefully to save for patterns. The seats were quite complicated and adding the piping to various areas added quite a bit of time.
