MSRP is about $243K. From what I've found its pretty much impossible to spec a $270k car. Dealers want a minimum of $300k for a "lightly" optioned car. Is this what other buyers are experiencing? I know these are early cars and Ferrari wants highly optioned cars - I get it- just curious what other buyers spec MSRP is.

While dealers may want that I've never heard of such a thing. Mine came in around 275 and should arrive end of March first part of April.

My car is sitting at $318k, but my dealer had a customes car there when I was there 2 day ago that was $283k. I was never influenced to add options. That would be bizarre.

This is not a Ferrari thing, this is most likely your dealer and an example of how the US dealer system works. Here in Europe demanding options wouldn't fly.

There are certain options dealers can suggest for better resale and options to avoid...as for personal enjoyment, at this point you are paying for items with the least amount of regret! I would hate to have to wait for another build.

That's true for sure. For example you can get the standard seats but I was told if you get standards with or without Daytona inserts you should at least get the partial electric option as most folks that want those seats want them because they are electric. I always go with sport seats however.

After you own a few you get a sense of what you do and don't want. Not that many resale killers except a controversial color or say no LED wheel. Get what you like, most options don't add much to resale if that is a concern. Mine will be 280k.

Did you by chance get to note what extra options you had for your build versus the customers car? That is a $35k difference in price.

There was a recent new ferrari model where many folks on here said they were "forced" to get to a certain level of options spend. I can't recall which model and too lazy to look (I'll venture a guess it was the FF, but I'm just guessing). It was widespread and the dealers pointed to FNA and/or the factory as the culprit.

Wow these are amazing. My 458 spider was 315 and I thought I had about everything (everything but the GPS that they forgot to install).

So it appears the average optioned price for a standard 488 coupe is $300K plus. Wow! Just 20 years ago the average new price of F355B's was $125K range. How times have changed....

otoh 2008 430 coupes were in the 230-250 range iirc. So up ~25% over the past 9 years isn't much price inflation imho (under 2% per year compound rate if my math is working).

The 1996 to 2016 increase in dollar terms is driven more by the usd vs euro X-rate than inflation I think.

300k makes sense. Average 458 Italias are 280-300k with shields, led cf steering wheel, forged rims, sensors, electric seats, mirrors , afs lights, leather options, daytonas, colored calipers.
