On mine, I always use the CTEK M6 eyelets that are permanently attached to the battery terminals, together with a 56-304 extension lead to save opening the hood every time. Not keen to put a load through the cigarette lighter and run the risk of shorts etc - mine had a short in the lighter socket after a few uses. It is fine to leave for a few months.

are you sure the cig lighter works on the 355? it doesn't work on mine. I don't have the 512tr here but if u remove the cover on passenger side of the trunk you can see where u access the battery.

Just run the extension cable to the top of the the hood and tape/cable tie it - there is space between the hood and the base of the wind shield.

It is on the right hand side of the car, in the bonnet under the carpet held down by velcro. There is a panel with two quarter-turn screws under which you will find the battery.

sadly us British didn't have the courage like Sweden to have "Dagen H" and allow us to enjoy the cheaper LHD F-cars from the continent! :)

Yes - under the CD changer. However, that is an odd place to install it unless it comes apart easily to allow access to the battery! I have a Pioneer CD player on mine - I believe it was dealer rather than factory option. Don't know for sure.
