How to get to the battery ? I want to put M6 hoses , from CTEK battery conditioner , but I can't find the battery ? Should I need to remove front fender inserts from passenger side ? Or how I can get access ?

Remove RH front wheel, removal inner panel forward of wheel and battery is inside.

Please be sure to jack up car when removing wheel :)

Assuming he's talking about a 355. He has nothing in his profile and I don't recall from any previous posts what car he has. If its a later 348 it's on the left hand side. if its an early 348 its in the rear.

Tryptomine, some info in your profile or specifying the car you at talking about might help insure you are getting the correct information.

Please check your owners manual...the information is in there, along with a lot of other very valuable details of the car.

Feed the cable up to the right side of the trunk. There is a little "hatch" with two knobs. I kept the cable end inside. I would open it and connect when I needed to charge.

I checked and don't understand that's why ask here.
By the way you mean I still need to put off the wheel and after fender inserts to get access to the battery where I should put M6 cables and after to keep the cable inside the hatch?

I don't understand what you mean "M6 cables" - if you are talking about the battery tender pig tail, I have mine in the fender well. Not great but it works well.

Yes, if you feed the cable up to the little hatch in the trunk it will make access much easier (the only negative is you must open the trunk to connect up...but you will never forget to unplug that way). Some folks choose to leave the end of the cable sticking out inside the fender liner, but that is not very tidy, and looks bad.

Easier, is simply to connect to the cigarette lighter inside the car. ;)

Third option for your "M6" cable: There are battery terminals in the right side of the engine compartment, under the side covers. Remove the cover, and you can attach you cable there. Reinstall the cover, and thread the cable around it. Some prefer that spot...but you again, need to open the engine lid each time to charge, but you will never forget to unplug it before departing. :)

Another option is how mine were done at Algar and that is inconspicuously snaked and tucked inside the front grill. No opening of the hood or rear deck to get at it.

Yes, that is the spot in the engine compartment.

Cigarette lighter is easiest and most convenient. BTW, it is safe to close the door on the cord when using the cig lighter socket. The door seals are very thick and soft, and will collapse around the cord very easily, with no pinching. There is no reason to thread it out the window. ;)

Here's another choice: How I installed by Interstate AGM and CteK charger into mine, which is also a 1996 355.

Ignore the issue of R type battery vs non R (side of polarity) There is plenty of room and cable length for either. I ran my pigtail up into the compartment in the front truck. Works great, totally happy.

Good luck with all the new projects. ----------- J.R.

I always understood it was best practice to disconnect the battery from the car loom before charging, all the above mentioned methods don't isolate the battery during charging.

You would when using a large charger pushing 50amps or more.
These are small "battery tenders" with outputs of .8 to possibly 2.5 to 3 amps at most.
There is no problem with such a low output...these battery tenders have been around for over 15 years.
