    in 1961 Dumay and Mairesse are present with each other 250 SWB (2729GT and 2129GT) maybe the 250 LWB participated to the GT race or was a practice car for some driver?

    Not all of the 7# Ferrari 250 GT LWB Interim Berlinettas competed in the Tour de France and whilst having the same chassis (508D) and similar engines, they have Pinin Farina coachwork and hence are known as "Interim's".

    1465GT - N/A - No TdF

    Hardly fair to compare the wins of the 77# "Tour de France" models with lesser in number manufactured 39# GTO models.

    The "Tour de France" name resulted after the 1956 win as firstly a nickname, then after taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the 1957 Tour de France event, the organizers awarded the cars with the event's Tour de France name. As it was never the Official Ferrari name, I always write it in inverted commas.

    The cars went on to win the 1958 - 1964 events, scoring a record consecutive nine wins overall.

    Found something more on the web:

    In 1961 and 1962, in the same day of the F1 GP ( August 6, 1961 and August 5, 1962 ) it was held a non championship race for GT cars , named "Rheinland-Pfalz Preis Nürburgring".

    Several Ferraris were entered in both races, but looking at the lists of entered cars, the proper year seems to be 1961 .

    The only problem is that the race number 41 doesn't match in both cases .

    If the picture has been taken before the scruteneering it could be a race number from a previous race.

    If so, the only plausible car is the 250 entered (DNF) by Rudolf Helmut Metzger .
    Which is the vin # ?

    I've perfectly understood what You meant.
    But, in that race the # 41 was a 250 SWB as all the other Ferrari cars except the one I've indicated as plausible ( Metzger car) .

    I too believe it is 0895gt. By then the factory had converted 0895gt to open headlights and painted silver. During the paint stripping process during restoration, the silver layer was found on top of the original burgundy (amaranto).

    The Jess Pourret book documented the build on the engines. I would check but the book is in a different location than I am currently.

    I take the opportunity to ask: does 1127GT have a passenger headrest or traces of one having been there? Most mid series cars had one, but then it seems to drop out...
