Sport Watche Recommendation

Looking for some advice on Sport Watches - I am relatively new to collecting. I have a Cartier Tank Americaine for dressier occasions. Also recently purchased a Patek 5146G which is my every day business watch, and am now looking for some opinions on a Sport Watch. Willing to spend up to $20k approx. - I have small wrists so cannot go for the very large oversized watches. All recommendations appreciated.

 

The older Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is 40MM and can be had for a song.
Prices have stabilised or even moving up.
Newer ones are 45MM and look real nice as well.

Breguet Marines can be had in 39 and 42 MM

 

Breitling makes some really nice Sport Watches. I wear a Navitimer.

Check out the Hublot Evolution. I have one with a rubber strap in ceramic and rose gold. If you need a pic I can post one.

 

The AP Royal Oak (not Offshore, regular size) is a really nice sporty watch. They come bracelet and strap. As do the Patek Nautilus.

 

There's a large variety of Rolex that meet your requirements - not too large, under $20K. In that class, Rolex are hard to beat for quality, reliability, and value. You could consider new stainless steel or two-tone steel and gold variations of the Submariner, Daytona, GMT, Yachtmaster models, or used gold (yellow, white, rose) versions of the same.

 

I thought the 40mm FF was the LE of 150.

The newer ceramic FF in the smaller size was a true limited edition. I think around 42mm IIRC.
I'm talking about the metal bezel FF which was 40MM of which there are quite a few. Quite a few being several thousand.

 

Depends what you are looking for. Are you looking for a rugged watch that you will swim with and bang the heck out of, then consider a Rolex.

Looking for something sporty, but which is a bit more refined and can be worn with a suit, or a nice evening out, look at an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (Not the offshore models). Or perhaps consider an older Vacheron Overseas when they were still 37 mm for time only or 40 mm for a chronograph.

There will also be a re-edition/limited edition of the original Girard Perregaux Laureato, but GP generally doesn't hold its value very well in the second hand market. Good luck with whatever you decide.
