Ferrari launch their new car tomorrow, ready for the first test, and they have a day of filming afterwards (on Saturday I think)

Looking forward to it. I'm betting that Ferrari will make another strong leap forward and take the fight to Mercedes this year...

...at least, I HOPE so. It would be great to see the Scuderia back on top in F1!

I've said it in the other thread too, will repeat it here...look at the final 2 gp, Ferrari where quite close even when the Mercs where pushing each other and racing. 14 sec behind in Brazil with Vettel, and 19 seconds back with Kimi (who apparently can't drive according to many) in Abu Dhabi.

I refuse to go into this season with all hopes lost...And I seriously doubt that Mercedes will walk away with it so easy as in the previous 2 years.

Jean Alesi has said today that Ferrari employ the current best driver in the world (Vettel), citing his performance last year. He won 3 races on merit against the mighty mercs. That has to count for something.

I believe Ferrari can Challenge Mercedes, but it will be one of the toughest and hardest fought seasons in many years. 2 teams going absolutely balls out with each other.

I hope Ferrari will be the top dog again, but 14 and 19 seconds isn't 'quite close' is it?

it is when you take into account that the Mercedes where racing each other balls out and the advantage they've had for the past 2 seasons.

It certainly is a gap that can be overcome.

Somewhere between 0.2-0.3s per lap, if ditching the pull-rod enables aero to work and decent balance for the car to be found then should be able to close.
