I'm glad I resisted the urge of putting that huge spoiler on my old 308.

Comparing the two on those photos I prefer the smaller spoiler now.

My QV came with the deep spoiler from the factory. I took it off 15 years ago and replaced it with the smaller one.

For some reason I have been thinking of going back to the deep one again. Glad I kept it.

I like the look of the deep spoiler, it also improves the handling considerably at speed. That 308 tended to become very light in the front end starting at 80 mph. After the deep spoiler was installed, it was much more stable and planted.

Paul, maybe you or I should buy it back! That is one well sorted 308 especially after all of the work that you did both mechanically and cosmetically. The single distributor and the 76 cams really boosted its performance.

Ill never be able to pry it out of his hands. Your old car now, love the tan and black combo of the older 308's. The mark on the side of the seat is a flash reflection from the seat belt.

The "mail slot" panel at one time was available at FerrariUK, along with the plastic edge bead trim...

The later "hamster balls' shroud deletes it, as Paul's photo of the red car shows...

Paul was kind enough to meet with me today and go over the cars. When you see it in person, the pictures do not do justice to the metal work completed on the 308. It is like night and day to current from the previously refinished. I am regaining my belief in the goodness of people. I did not drop of the 14" rims to Paul so I would have an excuse next week to pay another visit...but don't mention that to paul!

The TR looks so naked without the engine in it. The space inside qualifies as a mini bachelor's pad in Manhattan!

Emblem recess was surrounded with filler so we cut it out and made a new piece. The nose panel also has the oil can symptom around the patch at the bottom corner of the hood opening so we need to address that.

I test fitted the door handles knowing there was a slot cut in the door skin from over-extending the handle in the past - due to cable adjustment. Wanted to make sure the oval hole was large enough too so I extended the handles out to the limit and out popped filler with rust under it.

The two holes along the nose panel puzzle me, they were under the filler. They dont look rusty.

Are you guys going with that custom made exhaust of yours on this one, or re-using the X-OST?

The reason I ask is I'm trying to order one from Maranello, but having difficulty as none of their models really fit a US carbed 79 308. Apparently there is some clearance issue on the bumper spacers. Just wondering if you guys have run into that problem on this one...

I would love to be able to get some measurements to send them so they can fab something up for me. And also add a new model number for anyone else interested in a X-OST for a US carb 308!

Verell has the grommets for those wide oval handle slots.

A/C belt set too tight. Pulls the crank in the direction of the accessory. If it was the alternator it would be at the parting line of the bearing shells.

Interesting, is that common for all/most engines or is that something that is exclusive to the 308 engine?
