No. Although newer rubber bushings and a newer car is always better IMO. Just get all the updates through the dealer, and get their in house vehicle history report, not a CarFax. Ask the dealer to check the brake life (digital) to make sure it's in the normal range for the miles. A driven car is often better, they're not meant to be garage queens. Check that history and hopefully you trust your service mgr to interpret. For a 2012 you might want to get the POWER warranty through Ferrari, $6500/yr. Don't buy the cheapest car with the highest miles to save a little. It's always about the build and the pedigree, on resale. Weird story cars to be avoided. Like 7500 miles in 2 months (I wanked from that car once).

Mostly, you need to love the car. Making up a spread sheet can come in handy.

i had one of the first FFs delivered to the northeast - 22k miles and zero issues. Immensely versatile and pure driving bliss. you cant go wrong especially at todays prices.

 

Wholesale numbers are much higher than what your friends are telling you.

That '14 with the panoramic roof for 180 seems like a good deal

 

I had 30K miles on my FF. Only things I had issues with were the air flow sensor and one of the front parking sensors needed replacing. Mechanically they are solid (apart from the seatbeat handover device which got easily confused). The electronics once had a mind of their own and decided to throw up every single warning light known to man. This was easily solved by turn the key off then on again.

 

Not surprising to see 2012 trade in at 120-130 if there is a 15k 2014 offered at 180 out there... With the less controversial Lusso out there now the sellers of recent FF will drag the whole market down.

 

Big difference between Ferrari dealer cars and a Florida used car dealer car. Almost always the weird story cars come from Florida. Beware of low price, high miles from a non Fcar dealer. Investigate deeply.

 

Why this car and not some of the others in CA? That dealer can't spell, and that's a 2-3 dealer pass around car with Euro Car plates in their Car Gurus photo. lol I would never, and not more than 155 if you do, but I would not. There is a 2013 black FF with more/better features and 9500 miles in Mill Valley (SF, CA) for 199 ask. 2012 white FF at O'Gara with 10000 miles and a better build and features for now and resale. All black 12 in Charlotte asking 169. Well specd. 23k, 200+ days for sale, was around 200. They will move it.

Florida cars are always to be avoided IMO. Don't fall in love with one car. It's called shopping for a reason

 

That black FF is beat up. I wouldn't offer more than $135k for it as you should be able to get a nice example of 2012 for $150k, a 2013 for $175 and a 2014 for $200k...

 

I definitely think you're low here by 15 on the 12 to 17 on the 13 to 20 the 14, unless you want a car like this. But agree on that car being a no.

Dealer sold cars with good history still matter with the FF. Yes it's a daily driver, but it's still a Ferrari.

 

the white car at manheim that sold for in 130's has accident history, my friend almost bought it and told me, passed on it! Auction numbers are still very strong

 

Look at the other thread where the dealer offered a too low to accept trade in price from 2014 FF (trade in on a Lusso no less, not on a 488 or other high demand vehicle).

Brian, first our numbers aren't that far apart... My numbers are based on what I would pay today for good examples and to make a deal happen... Really good options can also move the needle higher...

 

Better see pics of that R as soon as you get it! Congrats man. Were you a 918 buyer to get the R allocation?

If by a dealer under warranty? No. You just eliminated a potential issue and got a new gearbox. The probability of 2 bad gearboxes on 1 modern Fcar is tiny. Also the issues that used to cause a FULL gearbox have been mitigated into a cheaper and lesser repair, so everyone is better off going forward. A Power warranty is never a bad idea, however, you might roll the dice now.
