The factory Line Update fixed that already back in the days!!!

This, in my opinion "need to be done"-Upgrade applyes to all non upgradeg GTOs.
Please check, if the Oil Pressure Sensor still is located at the Oil Filer! They failed also sometimes and burnt down a GTO.

    Well Done!

Indeed, the factory Oil Update Kit for 288 GTOs was part number 70000-60800-0000 (don't know if this is still accurate).

This relocated the oil pressure sensor to a remote location, usually the trailing engine strut member.

GTOs, particularly when driven hard, had a problem with oil lines bursting and this was the fix by the factory.

Using the image above, please try the kind folks @ Ferrari Newport Beach and see what they can do.

John Amette (the Classiche Director) especially will be a big help, tell him I sent you.

Where and how is the best place to observe the hoses and check they they are the new type? I'm sure I had them changed when I bought the car but that is 5 yrs ago now and I can't remember for certain. Many thanks

Is the ex Matsuda car going up for sale again? Wasn't it just sold a few years ago, maybe even last year?

I wonder what the merits will be selling 55237 after only a year, it was quite a high profile sale, I must say it does seem exceptional value compared to the HR Owen 33K 56329 which sold last week for 3.1 USD ( see attached picture ).Can anyone confirm if the engine and gearbox stamps are correct and present on the Matsuda car as I'm sure I read somewhere one was incorrect or missing. Thanks

The current owner/consignor is offloading quite a number of Ferraris from his collection right now, several are available in Amelia Island.

Yeah, strange moves... I wonder if it'll go for more than it did in 2015.

Not to sully this thread with questions about value, but did someone really pay $3.1m for a 33k car? What am I missing?

has sold through HR Owen Ferrari for a sum of 2.2 GBP or 3.1 USD the car was 7 owners and 33Klm, I understand it has been sold into a large collection of Ferraris in Europe, the car is shown below.

I've driven several low mileage older exotics. Most of them ran and drove awfully. Terrible brakes, hard tires, rough idle, lean mixtures. Now some of the higher mileage cars are dogs too mainly because of unsympathetic maintenance, but I always prefer a well sorted car with some patina versus a time capsule that barely drives and is not representative of the true spirit or capabilities.

Is there any proof that this number was really achieved?

Joe, I can only go by what I am told, I know personally the Sale's manager Sean and head salesman Paddy and this is what they told me, I have no reason to question them as they are both professional people running a Ferrari Main agent. I have known Sean for a long time. Another sale has taken place in Europe which I cannot verify as I do not know the car, I will try and obtain the Chassis number for your reference, the European market is very strong at the moment especially in the 80's cars, Graypaul classic have just closed on a 5000 mile Enzo for 1.750 GBP

    https://twitter.com/graypaulclassic

ED classics brokered the deal and here are the details:

288 GTO in red with 4396km, this LOI is the subject to control of the vehicle and all the papers that come with the car from the factory,"
    Since no accidents,.
All books and tools with the car from the factory,
    Km are original,
    Mostly original paint,
    All services up to date,
The car is paid full tax in Europe.
    Best wishes
