Nope, back in Mississippi now. That was the Macaroni Grill in Mobile, AL. I enjoy the traveling but there's no place like home!

Yeah and I fancied them up a bit. A little bit of butter, salt and pepper, and just a touch of parmesan. The steak was pretty sublime.

    Leftover chicken enchiladas.

We had a chain called Just Desserts, they made some pretty good stuff, including Tiramisu. But they went under in 2015. One of the founders who cashed out 20 years ago, well he opened a BBQ Chain. The food is all right, for Canadians trying to do Southern BBQ. I'm really disappointed they have a lousy dessert selection considering the owners beginings.

Amen, brother. After nearly a week of traveling it's been great to enjoy home cooking - burgers on the grill last night with the wife's cousins, beef & vegetable soup tonight, etc...T

The soup from above post after a couple more hours of gentle simmering, so as not to pulverize the potatoes. Man, this was good! Like Campbell's Chunky Beef Soup with Veggies on steroids! With homemade garlic toast. And, Kirkland Cab Sauv; got better with a little more breathing!

That looks very good. I saw Fred's (Kroger) had chuck roasts on sale but I didn't make it over to buy any.

Thank you. That's exactly what I used! About once per month it seems Kroger runs them on sale at $3/lb if you have their card. A great deal for low and slow and wet cooking methods. I try to get the best looking (most marbled, least sinew) one I can find in the refrigerator case, but let's be honest, these are graded Select. I carve off the gristle-iest bits with my breaking knife before storing them in the freezer for soup, chili and pot roast...T

Last night for dinner I tossed some hamburger in the skillet, added some spices and seasonings and ate it wrap/taco style on whole romaine leaves. Good stuff.

And tonight it's leftover steak, potatoes and petite pois (figured that sounds fancier than frozen peas! ;) )

Did a very weird combo. Homemade pot stickers and buffalo style chicken wings. Had the wings left over from super bowl.

Pot stickers and wings is a home run. A few months back I got the urge to make some wings and wanted to marinate them so I dug in the pantry and found a bag of Jack Daniels marinating sauce. Soaked 24 wings for about 1hr and then transferred to a pan keeping as much sauce on them as possible and baked at 350 for about twenty minutes and then turned them. I then blushed on another liberal coating of the sauce/marinate, lowered the temperature to about 175-200 for another 20-30 minutes, should have doubled the order as they were excellent.

Crap I knew I forgot to do something today...eat! Kind of messed up how pain can sometimes make one lose their appetite.
