Didn't find it anything special on this front. This was my first time trying the Highland park offering though.

How was it? I like vodka or gin. Hendricks is one of my fave gins. I haven't been driking much lately but was in the mood for something tonight. I have pretty much depleted my wine fridge except for a couple nice bottles that I'm saving for something special. I stopped at Trader Joe's to grab some stuff for dinner tonight and picked up a bottle of reasonably priced Barbaresco to go with home made pizza. Not bad for an $18 bottle. Certainly not memorable but not bad for the price. Might just crack one of the nice bottles this weekend. It's time.

Must say , pretty damn good. Distilled 4 times. ..Very good and smooth. Excellent for a martini. Definitly one that you have straight. I will give you a amazing secret at trader joes...Try and pick up a bottle of Vodka Monopolowa..Vodka Monopolowa is produced in Austria, from a family recipe that dates back to the 1780's. It is triple-distilled from a select variety of potatoes, great for a mixer, and only $11! pick a bottle up and let me know what you think! :)

I'm not much of a champagne person but I've heard that one isn't bad. :) Had an ex turn me on to Lucien Albrecht in the more reasonable price range decent bubbly's.

Tonight I'm imbibing in hot chocolate with Rumple Minze peppermint schnapps. Tasty and warming on these cold winter nights. Also bought a few ailrine sample bottles to try out a few different whisky/bourbons. Not impressed with Jim Beam Devil's cut so far. Going for Johnny black next I think.

We tried a nicely balanced Cava 12/31 that worked very well with sushi rolls -- none of that sourness or off the scale dryness many Cavas have. It stood up to seriously fatty tuna, spicy salmon, etc.

Following your lead, Kerim! Tonight was wife's birthday (actually two days ago), our anniversary, and first day of house renovation (pray for me that I may not lose it during the next round of looking at color swatches! :)
So, we busted out the good stuff. Marvelous!

Tonight was a little rough. Opened up a few that were great and others not so much. Finishing off with the Averna....C'est la vie... Image Unavailable, Please Login

How was the '75 Ruffino? The Riserva Ducale is one of my favorite Chianti's but I've never had one that old.

The cork came out perfectly but it turned. They make a magnum that's $11 by me that is hard to beat. At least from Italy.

The duckhorn from that night was unreal.

    That looks so damn intense!
Admittedly the first time I had a Bloody w bacon in it I was very pessimistic. Bacon and shrimp cocktail is the only way to go now.

That's too bad it turned. I bought a magnum of Chianti at Costco not long ago. Can't recall the brand off the top of my head. I bought several magnums last year for the holidays, it's fun to show up at a friend's house or a party with one.
