It looks like a straight, essentially complete car. I think that it is steel; I cannot see the characteristic Vetro-seam at the top of the A-pillar, but it might be there in-person. The car was clearly left outside in the rain for, I presume, several seasons. I'm glad that it'll have a chance at a new life. Does anyone know the c/n?

I like the look of the interior just as it is, and the car overall looks pretty good as well. If it were me, i'd go through the mechanicals and electric, bring the paint back as much as possible, and use it as it is. I'm not a big fan of glimmering like new restorations - patina gives it character and can only come with age. The rust is a big wildcard of course, but that could be checked before purchase. I'd say it's maybe 15% overpriced. Definitely an interesting car.

It's steel not Vetro, you won't find the seam. The gauges are in the wrong place, odd.

BH Car Club cruises SoCal neighborhoods looking for cars stowed away and then they approach the owners to see if they want to sell. My wife had our garage open one day while doing some outside chores and they saw my 308 inside. They asked her to call me and I immediately told them I was not interested in selling my car and would do any transaction myself if I did. Keep your garages closed folks, people are out there looking.

George is correct. The fuel gauge is in the small left console, where the oil temperature gauge should be. But it's an easy swap, and probably one pre owner thought, that watching oil temperature is more important to watch than fuel, since those left gauges are simply in an awkward spot.

    Best Regards

Buyer calls it rust. Seller calls it patina.

I am new to forum. This car does look ok except for only 46,000 mi the underbody looks really rusted and worn. The engine looks fine but is the belt for the A/C missing? It is a GTB but I agree that it is pretty pricey for the overall condition.

I joined to check out the 308/328 and see if maybe one would be a possible buy for me. Be going to see my son in Santa Monica soon, maybe I can get by there and check on the cars. They had a 308 that had a 'small' carb fire that was badly burned for $39,500.

I personally would never buy or sell from BHCC. They are a great example of what gives the car business a bad name. They usually pray on the uninformed and do it from a distance. I would do your own investigation on the history and value. They only buy low and advertise high.

Not sure why this thread is in the classified section, it's not anyone here advertising it? So I will say my piece and move on, if it gets deleted as being against the rules so be it.

Alex and BHCC are the ones who bought my 308 when I sold it. Of course because the way they deal with people I didn't actually know that until I had the bill of sale in hand waiting for me to sign.

I will say that they paid promptly and efficiently. I think the way they deal with people when buying is rather odd, I dealt with different guys on different coasts at different times until I finally found out who was behind it all and called Alex direct. The whole thing had me more than just a bit worried as it seemed amazingly sketchy. No idea why they just don't say "hey I am xxxxx and I work for BHCC. It was really odd.

The real problem I had with them was how they advertised a car I knew all too well after owning it for 12 years. It had 106K miles on it and of course the odo only showed 6k. They didn't tell any outright lies but they were less than descriptive where they could have been. The car was what it was and they sold it not much longer to what I believe turned out to be another conniving dealer in the UK.

In the end the real story is they paid the price we agreed to quickly and cleanly. They arranged pick up of the car a few days later and it was gone. Pretty easy transaction from my standpoint once I got past the cloak and dagger sort of BS they started out with.

As for buying from them I would be sure to get any car thoroughly inspected and make sure you know what it is your are buying.

As for the car in the original post here, it doesn't look too bad to me. And knowing how they work I'd be willing to bet someone could pick it up for an easy 10-20% less than advertised. But all of this is just my humble opinion of course.

Looking at the pics again does it look to anyone else like the seats and doors might be Cuoio leather? It looks to be in decent shape but is worn in a kind of odd looking way. If I remember right, at least on the older cars like this, Schedoni cuoio leather was treated differently and would wear differently because it was not as impervious to skin oils and such.

It was obviously misplaced. I've merged it with the 308 Market Thread, where the discussion belongs.

Yes, I was looking at that and thinking what a good idea it was. Plus the fuel gauge is about as useful as the clock. Might as well tuck those two down by my knee where I can ignore them.

It's in better shape than mine was when I bought it too. Mine had rust holes in the rear quarter, ripped seats and dash and other atrocities. :)

What might have happened to this car? Burned from the outside? Doesn't look like a 'minor carb fire' to me. Carbs and trumpets look fairly unmolested.

Funny... with a "small carb fire" why they dont show any pictures of the engine compartment? Also why the black singed front fenders? I think there was more of a fire than they let on. My experience with car fires is that if there has been a lot of heat, it affects the sheet metal. Any repairs are very hard to do when you have buckled s/metal and it has been heat treated (hardened).
