That is sharp! Blue and white are my favorite colors for things fast. The detail on her is superb. Boats these days have stepped up their games. I am having custom vinyl panels made for mine to keep up with the Joneses. Did you spec the 4 bullet style speakers or is that standard. I ask cause I am having 2 installed on my bow as we speak sight unseen, but my local marine av guy says it sounds amazing. The "ladies" needed some more sound while at speed
And another question if I may... I have seen some local wakeboard boats that look similar to yours... I actually have one owner right next to my dock, but his looks smaller. Your seating area looks much bigger. Is yours considered larger for a wakeboard board?
Glad it was nothing major. I only have a 37' and I remember the first time out I tried to dock it at a nearby marina. The only spot was between these sedan bridge style boats that were larger than mine. Lets just say drunk boating people are very friendly. The wind that day did not help. But if I saw 60' plus yachts around me... I think I would have dropped anchor and called the Nat'l Guard to drive my boat out LOL.
I surfed behind one and I was sold. I had done a lot to my 220 to set up the perfect wake that I thought was unbeatable. I was wrong.
Thanks for all the compliments guys! Pingi, The speakers were an upgrade. Apparently JL Audio is taking Marine audio to a new level. My dealer says this is now the benchmark for quality and especially loudness. I am not one to drive around blasting the speakers, but they say these things are severely loud. When we demo'd the boat he took the time to explain it all but I was more concerned about other features so I didnt play with the audio. I knew I was going to do the upgrade anyway. Yes, the new Nautique G series are larger boats in their class, especially when comparing to other "pickle fork" bows.
Your interior and overall setup is similar to my Tige RZ4. Did you by any chance cross shop Nautique to Tige before buying?
I've spent time in Tiges but didn't specifically go to a dealer, no. But you know the scene....tons of people pulling up in all kinds of boats all the time, you eventually get to see them all. We have been loyal Nautique owners, but I did check out a Malibu dealer too. BTW, LOVE Tige too. They have a stellar reputation here. Have you posted a picture on this thread?
I do not think I have. I am usually driving. This is not ours, but ours is spec'ed just like theis one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Have you tried out an x23 or x20 and btw beautiful g23 best wakeboard and wakesurf boat 2 years in a row so the g21 will also be exceptional
What an amazing watercraft! Love the color too. Enjoy and be safe! Some day I hope to have its brother.
No. Our friend, the Malibu dealer, is also a Mastercraft dealer. Even he admitted that the wakes on the MC was not as good as the Malibu and the Nautique. And I think thats pretty common knowledge.
Our lake is overflowing with MC. We have one of the biggest dealers in the country. I tried out an x24 prior to getting my Tige and was underwhelmed.
Have you heard that the new MCs are going to have bow-thrusters? Pretty sweet innovation. Its an $11K upgrade. It would be nice to have. With the right conditions, big lakes like ours get white caps and rather large waves. Docking can be treacherous at times.
Really? This could be a sign of the end of civilization. Part of the joy of an inboard is being able to run it to the inch. I guess it brings more people into boating but knowing how to run one without a thruster is a fun art. Paddles vs a manual I guess. FWIW, I bought a MC and was pretty underwhelmed with the quality. They rested on their prostar laurels too long. I think Nautique and Malibu are better boats. This thread has made me realize I'm sentimental for the old CorrectCraft and MC Prostar boats. They were so solid. I remember the first time I pulled a guy through the course on a short rope. I had come from I/O's and couldn't believe how well those three skegs tracked. I had a buddy that could ski a circle around his MC ProStar.
Might be nice to have. I had a DCB cat before the Tiga. I could get the DCB docked in any slip with no problem. These flat bottomed inboards are quite a challenge. The combo of a brisk breeze, busy marina and waves can make docking a very trying experience! Still won't get to buy a MC.
I assume the DCB had twins. Much easier. I'll make a comment at the risk of sounding like one of those "hey you kids, off the lawn" guys. When you have skiers or boarders in the water situational awareness is paramount. Wind, waves, tide, depth, speed, the rope, other boats and so on. My point is, if someone has to have a thruster to dock the boat they probably shouldn't have guys in the water. I wouldn't be surprised if a thruster is easily retrofitted into almost any boat. A <30' boat would probably be around $10K. I know one for a large 56' sport fish was $28K.
Yes, there are retrofit kits already available for any of the newer ski boats. But the holes you have to put in the hull are scary big. Sorry if this comes off as argumentative, but I fail to see how docking a boat in choppy, windswept waters has anything to do with situational awareness and pulling "skiers" Different parts of the same water can have vastly different currents, wind conditions, pier angles of entry, etc etc. Just cuz you you get to be an expert at pulling into your own spot, doesnt mean you can do it without banging up your gelcoat on a different part of the shoreline. My cousin docks a boat just fine, but riding with him is the scariest damn thing you'll ever do in life, especially when he's pulling children.
I think that's kind of what I'm saying. Your cousin can dock fine but is breathtaking when pulling. I don't know too many situations the other way around where somebody is great pulling and working with people in the water but they can't dock the boat. Nevertheless, if a thruster makes it more enjoyable and easier for people to enter the activity I'm all for it. It might make it easier to put on a trailer too. My last three boats have had thrusters. Everything I do is in the salt now so I haven't watched Malibu, Nautique or MC for a while other than to be shocked at how expensive they are.
I started to wonder how they do this without having the thruster in the water. I looked it up. Very cool how it's done with the jets. It looks like it works great. It also looks like a pretty good deal for $11K. It's not a trivial install.
These types of boats are that type of situation. I have grown up on boats and am a very attentive driver. My DCB was a single. In my experience cats and V-hulls are so much easier to maneuver. I know on our lake, docking a wakeboat with winds, waves and other boats is a real challenge. Certainly doable, but having something to keep the bow aimed in the right direction would be quite helpful IMHO.
Just finished detailing the engine room after the annual engine service. A solid day of cleaning and touch up. I complain about it but it's kind of a therapeutic hobby. Once it's done it makes it very easy to spot any leaks and so on. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I understand the therapeutic feeling. I'm OCD when it comes to things I am marveled with. I would love to do that chore, except they would wreck my spine. Nice job. Looks like you could do surgery in there.
