    Thanks Jacques !

    I have a question.

On each side of the seat stripe, there is an area not covered in alcantara ... it seems to be the standart configuration of the tdf seats...

Is it possible to have alcantara everywhere ? What material is it ? Clothe ?

It is possible to have alcantara anywhere and everywhere but standard fit is alcantara with 'technical fabric'.

That's Good news.! Gloss carbon instead of that mate carbon and I'm virtually done

I'm curious to know if glossy carbon would be accepted...

Yes but if you sit in the car for some reason it's not quite right and matte suits it. Also, I think a mistake from an investment standpoint to mess with a basic element of Ferrari design and for obvious reasons they see it as matte.

    I really hate matte carbon... I tried ... bu I can't.
If I had to order a tdf I'll ask ultra bright gloss.

This is my reference when it comes to hardcore ferrari interior.

Yes it's aftermarket but it's the perfect exemple of what I'd love to see for a F12 tdf interior

Bright Carbon + Black alcantara is a visual delight.

Last Friday wie picked the wifes 488 Spider. After driving that the last couple of days, albeit also in some really horrible weather some impressions. Drove it back to back with the tdf as well.

After spending a few 100 kms in the Spider I must say that it is a huge jump over the 458 and also over the Speciale. So much more power and where the naturally aspirated engine lacks torque the new engine is just there all the time. Compared to my Porsche turbo and P1 it is just a much better engine. Instant response and sounds better than the competition. I don't know how they did it but they did. Brakes are absolutely fantastic. (Sport Auto just achieved the shortest braking distance with the 488 ever, 991 GT3RS and 918 included) the trick is to put Michelin PS2 on the car.

It is absolutely super car fast. Driving back to back with the tdf, agility is similar on both cars which is a big tribute to the tdf. The tdf soundtrack is of course better, but the spider sounds more grown up than the 458. With the roof down its brilliant (but damn cold). It's easier to drive than the tdf which is to be expected. You can place it easier into corners. It needs less skill and is more forgiving. In terms of acceleration there is not much in it. Need warmer weather to find that out properly, but the 488 will certainly be biting at the heels of the tdf.

We took them out together and it's fun to drive two such different concepts that are both brilliant. Can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can do some acceleration runs.

Am supremely happy with both. The tdf no compromise front engined drivers car and the Spider as the ultimate open sports car become supercar. PS: the wife is pretty happy as well :)) keeps on taking her car out for a spin On the back roads here. They will both be collecting a lot of mileage!

Thanks for the great write up. If you don't mind can you post some pictures of the 488? (Not to hijack the thread of course)

Great report! What color has your wife's 488 Spider? Have you some pictures of it?

If you look at the areas that are carbon, they are very different from the standard car with many more horizontal surfaces, indeed the standard car has none, which would really cause an issue in sunny or nighttime conditions. I think it would be a mistake and a big one.

Thanks Bigthree for the great writeup. Question: Michelin PS2? As opposed to the Supersports? Its a much older tire.

I agree with the matte CF for the inside.

Not sure, the launch pictures look like Giallo Modena to me...it is a tint brighter but makes a lot of difference for me.

Giallo Triplo Strato was the launch color. It does look amazing in person, and in different light.

Must've been the lighting then that made it look different. :)
