Anyone else care to join in?

    Air pump missing

If the heads were painted, one can assume it was taken apart, don't remember that as part of the description:). Although, if it was taken apart by Steve, it's probably better than before :). Kinda seems like this is a situation where he may be one of the past owners? Very curious. So many try to milk the celebrity provenance, I am surprised they don't just come out and say his name...

If the provenance is true ... I would have expected an ex Steve Matchett Ferrari not to have been kustomized under the bonnet.

But it probably comes with four sets of tires, with the requirement that you have to use two sets every day.

    Wrong shifter knob, wrong peddles

Love the comment about the tires! If only it came with a bespoke Ferrari themed racing Jack!

Most likely the cam covers are only painted black not the heads.

The car is definitely owned by Steve Matchett, I performed all the work on the car for Steve and the previous owner, and although the colors of the cam covers and plenum are not stock that is how he wanted the car.

True... But that would just be the car's sporting regulations that would also require that you drive within 107% of the prior day's drive time.

    :)

    Cheers!

Steve is the current owner, the engine was taken down for new head gaskets, and yes only the cam covers and timing covers are black powdercoat. he really likes the old school look with the black cam covers and thought that would look nice on his 308. The car really is exceptional even with the customization. We did engine, exhaust, suspension, brakes, interior, and lots more little items.

Why is he getting rid of it? Seems like he is investing a great deal into it only to let it go instead of enjoying it himself.

Has he owned it very long?

We need a new rule; we all must post a dozen photos of our 308 before criticising someone elses. :D

Old school look is wrinkle black.

My '84 308 QV is original except, because it is a US model,
I have pushed in the rear bumper about an inch and the front
maybe about two inches. The US market bumpers do look awful,
but the changes are so small that they are not obvious except
    for an expert.

Lol....good idea. Be interesting for sure!!!!

Everybody does different things with their cars. Some like them 100% original and others aren't bothered and like mods etc. Some drive their cars all the time while others drive them rarely to keep the mileage down and in pristine condition. It's your hard earned money so to each their own I say.
I'm kinda in the middle. I like my cars as orig as possible within limits but like driving them as much as possible as well. Discreet mods that make the car better are fine on my cars.

It does look nice, and those pics that wade posted are ridiculous! Looks like all the wear items have been addressed, thoroughly :)

I hope it sells for 300k!

I just like to play the game "which parts are not original" for fun. I am practicing to be a concours judge one day!

Sold for $68,275 with buyer's premium included. Not bad! There were a few 2v injected cars at the same auction, and I think one of them sold for 56 without buyers premium, which is really strong for that model year (60k miles nice shape). Full results should be available tomorrow.

Sometimes I think we are getting past the point of enjoying a car and now that we own a Ferrari, something might change and perhaps diminish it's value if we change something. I say enjoy the car and if you want to "improve" it, good luck. It's your money. If and when you sell it, let the next person worry about whether the changes are and improvement or not. Right? If he does not like the way it looks, he probably wont buy it....
