Original color reference? - yellow GTSi 308 1981

Hello there.

Im beggining the restoration process of my GTSi 308 1981. I will repaint the whole car.

Anyone knows whats the reference for the original yellow color for that year?

Should be Giallo, FER 102, Glasruit paint.

 

It depends...when did the car leave the production chain exactly?
The early "two valve injected" were still in Salchi paints for a few months, then switched to Glasurit as said by Steven. Note that the cars were in single-stage paints until 1993, without clear coat.

even my 2V inj. may`81 car was still in glidden salchi paint (rosso chiaro)

 

I confimed and my car is dated of may 1981.

Probably Glidden Salchi, then (?) either Giallo Senape 20.Y.464, Nuovo Giallo Fly 20.Y.490 or Giallo Dino 20.Y.438?
Does the label of the paint under the engine hood still be there?
You could ask " Newman" what paint and color he will use on the 1977 GTB he is restoring he will use...

My 1981 GTSi (Nov-80) was painted with Glasurit (ROSSO BARCHETTA FER 312) I special ordered the color and maybe that is why it was painted with that. I did however, have the entire car clear coated with DuPont Imron after I picked her up from the dealer. That was 35 years ago, and she still looks new. Sorry for diverting off subject.

so Ferrari used both paint providers during that period (at least until may `81)
depending on when the cars left the assembly line

 

Just spoke with the oficial Ferrari dealer and I was told this:
20303400
Giallo Fly 5994490

Does it make sense?

Not to me, 5994490 is a Ferrari color reference, that is true, but not applicable to either the 308s under Glidden Salchi Paints, or Glasurit paints...
The color is mentioned indeed in the link below, but I don't think it is applicable to 308s...

No trace of the sticker under the engine hood?
Did you PM F-Chatter "Newman" about the yellow (= Giallo) he is using on "URAS" carbed 308 is is restoring?
