Countach, the ultimate supercar

I saw 1120292 last november in a collection with a Diablo GT1, Diablo GT, 3x Espadas,1x Jarama S and a Jalpa. It was at the dealership "Heurich classics" but there is a sponsor behind who has a great Lamborghini collection with several other Countach,Diablos.

1120292 was in overall good condition but the price seems a bit optimistic. The market cooled a bit down imo.

 

1120292 is a really good car.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain a lift support piston for a QV trunk ? I see 3 Sach's brand listed on eBay but all have different part numbers.

Hahaha I'm no t talking about the price. It seems to optimistic.
Looking from the pics it looks quite nice.

 

Forget the part numbers, important is the length and the NM to hold the weigth. It's marked on yours as well, just buy the same.

 

It's not marked on mine Raymond, if it was I would not be asking ! Obviously the length and NM is important, wing or no wing, that's why they have different part numbers. I found the correct one after P300V8 reply. Thanks again.

What am I looking at? I may see missed areas around taillight and possible overspray on the taillight caulking.

 

First you should ask if the application of caulking is correct.

Then ask yourself if your own car is better.

but close to perfection, i owned this car untill 2009, the factory original leather of this car is almost like new and its WHITE.., the original mouse hair on the dash aswell in very good condition, the complete history is there, even the original invoice from mr Awazi (i hope i spell his name correct..), on the same bill there is also a Espada and Silhouette if i am correct, all very nice. Not much owners, its very low mileage, true miles, i think about 16.000 now(?). Okay, unfortunally no toolkit, the leather pouch and books are there, i guess the toolkit does not bring the price down that much for a good car like this one. In my opinion its one of the best LP400's

Yes. IMO only cosmetical corrections necessary. It is a great car if you like the livery and if you can live without a toolbox. I am convinced that it is a great basis compared to what you get elsewhere.

 

Yes, caulking is correct. I'm not saying every Countach was done this way, but some were. Mine is this way.

That's a better answer. Some LP400 were, some LP400 were not. I am not speaking about later cars, because I can't judge them.

 

Just realized by looking at the amazing pics in this thread that the front wheels on later model CT's with flares are somewhat inset compared to the rears.

it would need some time to describe what is correct on that car, because 1120292 it is a very good car. M.B., who is known for being a serious enthusiast collector, already described what generally is good and what is missing. Being an astute former owner of 1120292, his words should be sufficient, and anybody who has seen his very good or perfect cars, would confirm that. For sure his description could be "widened", but neither M.B. nor myself are working full time as a car broker/consultant, thus you certainly understand that we use our available time for earning money by practising and not for creating large lists about certain cars. The same might apply to Jota5084.

Or do you really think that someone like me now starts to describe what is good or bad on every car that I have seen? This simply is not feasible.

By the way, it is much easier to provide long "error lists" for other cars' mistakes that are much worse than 1120292. But also in that respect, my time and interests are limited. Hence no engagement here, too, although I don't appreciate when someone with a car in much-less-than-perfect condition - not you, Joe - tries to chime into a discussion about possible errors on a good car like 1120292.

To summarize, I don't take your post for serious, but I'd like to admit that your intentions are understandable from your point of view and the way you are living and working and contributing to these threads.

I can understand Joe´s statement.
For me, i´m not that LP400 expert and Eric showed a picture where is stated that there is something not correct. I would like to know which detail isn´t correct. Sure it´s cool to be an insider and know everything but we are a open forum and also people how don´t have the knowledge should learn here.
