    Since Porsche seems to be on a roll with making the cool stuff again, Id really hope that this is being considered. Has anyone heard any rumors? Hopefully some Porsche hire up will read this and get the project going lol....

    Maybe a Jalopnik guy can do a write up.....Give me a shout out Jalopnik guy if you take my story idea...

    What chassis would they use?

    At one point there was talk of a new 928 based on the Panamera.

    Edit to add: They seem to be doing the big cars right,(Pan, SUVs, etc.), Middle Size cars are great(GT4, 911, Boxster, etc.), now they just need to tackle the small car sector.

    I am not sure about the new TT, but previous ones have shared the platform with the Golf. They have always been very nose heavy. Again some of this may have changed with the new generation.


    I guess the other question would be, where would a new 944 slide in price wise compared to the Boxster and Cayman?

    I love the 944, I am just having trouble picturing why Porsche would do it.

    After most options a Boxster/Cayman is pushing 75K....

    A 4cylinder 944esque car should max out at around 55.

    Go after the guy like me who lives in a city, likes to scoot around quick but light, maybe a nice run on a country road on a sun, have a bit of storage space, easy to park anywhere(small dimensions), good on gas, Porsche badge, Manual, good tech that I dont have to pay 75k + for, etc.

    Since overall trend is for Turbocharged low displacement motors a motor like this also helps Porsche plan for future.....

    TT, though nice doesnt fill this need for me as a result of AWD and no 6 speed. Things like BRZ are too cheap looking + slow for young 30ish guy just starting to make decent cash but that doesnt want to be hit with overly large car payment.

    Why not, the 924/944 were Audis.

    But there's also talk of a mid engine non-turbo flat 4 at a lower price point coming out in a few years.

    FE or ME wouldn't bug me but I would like turbo for tuning potential
