Different venue. I will send the invites out Friday before the event. Thank you to everyone that has sent an interest. This will be much bigger then we ever expected.

I sincerely hope this inaugural meet has an uneventful and pleasant start. There needs to be an alternative to the utter disaster C&C has become, I'll be out of town or I would have sent an invite request.
Please post pictures and a brief appraisal of the meet.

Ah, no rows of Mustangs and Corvettes? That would free up 2/3 of the current venue best I recall.

So is the event an invite only for vehicles AND spectators?

Or can anyone come and view the cars?

This one is invite only. We are trying to get back to what CC was originally. If you have someone that wants to bring a car out and it's worthy. We trust your judgement.

So no spectators? Seems odd. I thought the original CC was open to all fans, not just a self selected group.

Yes they let it get too big and rowdy, but at least they weren't turning away car guy spectators based on not being 'in the club'.

If this is an FCA Member only event, then I stand corrected.

I don't see the reason why to turn away spectators. You could weed them out by age and quality of media, sort of in the same fashion you are doing with who is allowed to come and show off their car.

I would be willing to send a link to my work if I could come take photos at the event.
I always saw Cars and Coffee as a way to give back to the car community and share the excitement and art of an exotic car. Getting rid of the spectators just seems to take that away.

This is NOT a FCA event. This is just something that everyone has been asking for. I understand the complaint. For now this is how we are doing it. There have been so many people complaining about damages and scratches from spectators. The sad part is those few ruin it for everyone..

I understand and see your point. This is just what everyone has been asking for. Who knows it might change on the next one. For now we just want to eliminate any issues that have happened at CC. Does that make sense?

I know there will be a few people upset about our decision. Unfortunately, a few bad apples have ruined it for everyone.

I'm going to split the super-secret decoder ring meetup into another thread, and let the original one get back to C&C.

I get what you're saying, but who exactly is "everyone". It doesn't seem like much of Cars and Coffee as is seems more like a private club-like event.
I will agree spectators can sometimes cause issues and unwanted damage, but when you consider the amount of people Cars and Coffee brings in, it's very hard to keep an eye on everyone.

What you're doing sounds like a smaller meet up. Let's say you invite a handful of spectators, or even tell everyone who is invited that they can invite a couple of friends, the amount of people just walking around is controlled. Especially if you keep the event invite only it seems less likely that spectators are willing to act out, as they want to keep coming back to the event.

Sorry if some of this didn't make sense, I'm a little sleep deprived with a hint of butthurt.

I knew going into this I would catch slack. I am completely fine with that. "Everyone" are the exotic owners that ARE NOT showing up to CC. I understand it is a big event. But I have always lived by the motto "Quality over Quantity". Every month less exotic owners go to CC because of mishaps by American made cars or spectators. Take that as you will. That is the reason this event is private.

There is another, or maybe the same event in Addison posted on other exotic forums. I just hope this event is not a duplication.

I thought after the accident last month, that perhaps things would "cool-off".

Nope. Lots of cars roaring around Spring Creek, and the Tollway.

When I showed up at 6:40, just after clearing the gate, I hear tire screeching and horns. It was hard to see (over my shoulder) but it appeared that someone turned left (off eastbound spring creek into the BMW entrance) across traffic, and was hit by a west-bound SUV. I couldn't tell if it was a hit, or near hit, but after the sliding stopped, the SUV did turn into the BMW lot. As I was in a moving line, I lost track of it after that. And, I didn't walk back over there as I'm not really into seeing other people's misery.

When I left at around 9:45, and proceeded north on the tollway access road, I noticed that there were hundreds of people on the grassy area lining the access road. Cheering on drivers, and presumably waiting for a crash. Considering that last month a mustang lost control and went up into that area, I thought this particularly stupid to stand out there. And, I think Classic BMW would have roped off the area - that's a huge liability issue there.

Still, inspite of all that, I did enjoy the morning. Lot's of good conversations - always enjoy talking with car guys/gals. Several F-Cars showed up - 430, 2 TRs, 348, 328, my Mondial. Several McClarens, Lambos, Maseratis.

I gave up on C&C a while ago, caught people leaning and sitting on my car, another time I took my Ducati only to find some kid sitting on it... I have always preferred the smaller car meets, a few years back there was a saturday meet at a pizza place in frisco, interesting cars, good conversations, and good pizza. made the drive from dallas worth it.

I haven't been since August of last year. I see the cars that show up and get bummed, but then I remember getting up at 5:30am, driving an hour and a half from Johnson County, sitting in traffic on either Spring Creek or the DNT Spring Creek offramp, and fighting the crowds. It's just not worth it anymore.

I prefer the two Fort Worth events, which amazingly occur on the same morning. Much closer and more enjoyable.

Very very well done, looking forward to coming back to this, thanks to all for putting it together. Although if I had known how many P-cars were coming, I would have brought something a little less common. ;)

Very sorry I missed it, I'd planned to be there but life took over. Sounds like it exceeded expectations. I won't miss it again.
