John, say it ain't so! Truthfully I am also looking at an FF, but I want to keep the 612 as it really is a vehicle that is going to continue to age gracefully and appreciate.

John- Even better. Monroneys are often rife with errors. Build sheets come from Ferrari on MODIS.

Eric, afraid it is so - for many different reasons. First, I have 7 cars and need to trim them down in case I move in the future and don't have the garage space. Gave my Lotus Excige to my daughter(hell, I can't even get in it anymore) and am giving her my Tahoe. In the process of selling my Scud so I will end up with one Ferrari and one Maserati with F1.

I don't want to hijack this thread but the bottom line is that Vietnam is the gift that keeps on giving. I was there 48 years ago, 1968. Was wounded twice which has meant two major back surgeries and I still need another so I have limited motion. Got lymphoma stage 4 from Agent Orange. Beat that back in 2012 but the chemo caused a change in my blood structure - there is something in your blood called C1 inhibitor that kind of keep thing running smoothly -- well because of chemo I only have 5% of what u have - that's what caused me to drop dead in the ER last 9/11. Took a while for them to figure it out - you know there are situations where science ends in medicine and guess work begins. So, now I have to carry an injector with Firazyr to give my self a shot if needed and then head to a hospital.

The whole idea is that I need to stay somewhat near medical help, thus buying a penthouse in Asheville and trimming the number of cars.

Please, I want to be absolutely clear on this, I aint looking for any sympathy at all - I have had and am having a great life-3 kids, 5 grand kids, a great wife of 33 years and best of all the perfect dog.

Now back to the regular programing!

John man, I am sure those cars are going to some great/lucky homes. Thanks again for your service. It makes me cringe when I think of all of my Vietnam brothers/sisters. Here's to hoping I don't see similar sh*t later on from the crap we inhaled in the gulf too. Funny story, when we first got in country, they had these tent cards on the tables in the chow hall that talked about the dangers of all the "particulates" in the air that we were inhaling, and to minimize our exposure outside, esp near the oil fires etc. Fast forward a few months and the war kicks off in Mar of 2003, and all those tent cards mysteriously disappeared. I did a VO2 max test at my civ doc before I left and had 110% of the lung capacity of an avg male my age. Came back and was at 50% a year later lol. Same story, don't need sympathy as I've had a great life too man. Wouldn't trade it for anything, even knowing what I know now.

I'll call you later buddy. Love to hear about the scud/612/FF shuffle going on ;)

If I ever am lucky enough to design and build my own home, recreating John's garage, office loft and all, would be an absolute. It's perfect.

You will Bob - eventually you will hit a home run because you never get out off the plate swinging - I can tell you I struck out several times badly before I hit one out of the park

Yes sir. Looking more for a lot of singles and doubles now than a homer. My pipeline is 400% larger than ever before and growing, pipeline in terms of bids, not necessarily wins. But if we win 25%, I'll climb out quickly.

Sometimes difficult to compete with the big firms with full time proposal teams, but if the contract is an SBSA, odds go way up.

Even that's tough these days because the master is a lunatic. Best value is still LPTA these days, have to use price to win tactics that are too dangerous for most smalls. Never know how scoring will turn out. I'm really more concentrated right now on being the go to sub for a few select larges.

Hey guys - reviving an old thread with good news - had several surgeries for skin cancers including having my right eye sewed shut for 8 weeks to rebuild that area - spent all last week having all kinds of tests scans etc - got the news Sat night (my doctor hacked into the hospital records)
that I am ......................................completely clean of all cancers and problems

Dam glad I didn't sell any cars - was just worried before and didn't want to leave my wife with a bunch of problems - the good thing is that we bought the condo in Asheville and it is only 35 minutes from our house in the mountains - so life is now good again - closed that chapter of my life and moved on to a new one - feel totally renewed. Well at least I do now that I recovered from my hangover from Sat nite after I got the news - was with my youngest daughter (25) and we might have over indulged. She totally loves me and calls me her true hero - life could not be better
