To illustrate your comment about the derivations, there is this GTO in Germany. I know not everybody will like but it shows the level of personnalization that is possible

Does anybody have pictures of the blacked out US spec 599 GTO that I believe was previously owned by Ralph Lauren, and now is owned (possibly previously owned) by a member on here in Washington State? They were on Flickr and I can't seem to find them. Thanks.

 

Not sure which GTO your referencing and I have never ever seen a truly "blacked out" GTO. IMHO that would be not just a nero on nero car, but also no stripe, black rims, black calipers, carbon wheel caps, carbon shields, dark window tint, black tail lights, black side markers, etc. Every black GTO I have observed ALWAYS has something missing to be characterized as truly blacked out. FWIW I have seen blacked out 599 GTB's (as well as other modern F cars like a 458, 430, 360, etc.). There aren't a huge number of black GTO's and maybe just a couple in the World that have been modded to that extent. My black GTO (actually nero setoso) is missing the black rims and tail lights but is otherwise "blacked out". Maybe someday I'll add the Novitec rear light kit and black out the rims, but its unlikely (although my GTO does have the black Novitec side markers). If you do find a truly 100% blacked out GTO I'm sure many on here (including me) would love to see a pic or two of same. Good luck in your search although I think you will never find the truly 100% blacked out GTO.

 

I'm fairly certain Ralph Lauren had a black gtb. Not sure about a GTO.
