I'm quite sure this Silhouette is #40080 (Specialists will confirm). I shot these two pictures at the Factory in Italy in 1986... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unbelivable!! Thats the Proof To the Production List from 5.5.1978 - argento/senape To Sea Auto Roma Many many thanks!!
Yes absolutely wonderfull! Thank You for the pics! I will Invite you next Time here to the "Oktoberfest" for 100Liter Beer!! ;-)) Thanks Hubert
fantasitc period pic ! those odd side marker lamps... must have been orginally a USA intended body that never made it there. any photo's of the urraco bob rallye? it would be good to confirm the color since the replica and they color of the original as it sits today is orange rather than the reddish/orange before it was restored.
I participated with my Urraco in a factory sponsered event (by invitation only) in July 1992 in Italy, Golfo Dainese. This car was present. The last day this Silhouette broke a belt in a rear tire which and a replacement tire could not be found - I believe that the owner had to drive slowly from Genova to Rome. I should have pictures.....
Great pictures! A fast and strong driver -without the roof at this wet weather... ;-) Thank you very much
Not 100% correct for posting it here in the Silhouette thread !... but, following the question of hyenahf, here is I picture of the Urraco Bob, inside the Factory I had in my files (not my own pict) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have private pictures I am unable to share. It is not orange and more likely than not Rosso Corsa/Miura [whatever it is called], the one used for Jota, as used by Alfa Romeo which looks red or orange in different lighting. Although the lighting was peculiar at NEC, the differences between the three colours are plain to see...http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144316506-post1.html and this is what Jota looks like in daylight...http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143390938-post13027.html
i posted that picture here on fchat many years ago... its a scan from "the supreme amongst exotic book" here is the original... most likely lead based paint which will appear much deeper an brilliant than any "non lead" used today? second notable jota of herbert hanhe looks to be same red for long while when it was in japan before recently put up for sale? the latest recreation seems slightly more orange in color? i suppose there is no real way of telling since the original car no longer exist. either way they are all redder than how urraco bob rallye is today after the restoration Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Silhouette was launched at Geneva 1976 when 40000 was shown with its red and black interior. Happy 40th anniversary! Image Unavailable, Please Login
40004, both owned at that time by Jean Wicki, the one who had the Raptor made for him. His collection contained at that time also LP400 #1120096, SV #5080 and svj#4808, Jarama #10018, Espada #8278, 350GT #0346, Jalpa #ELA12142, Islero #6387? He was located in Bergdietikon, a Suburb of Zurich with explains the 01 in the phone number. in 1991 he sold subsequently sold all cars, in a combined auction with the well known Oldtimer Galerie from Toffen and Touring Garage in Weningen. http://www.oldtimergalerie.ch/images/jubilee/Flyer-regensdorf.pdf http://www.oldtimergalerie.ch/images/jubilee/pressebericht-regensdorf.pdf A white LP400A (should most likely be S) from 1980 sold for 195t CHF, have to find out which one that was.
Thank-you Raymond for your infos. FYI, in the same magazine I've picked-out the Ads of Silhouette #40002 & #40004, the following cars were also advertised by the same guy : - 1973 Jarama S #10486 (met. blue) - 1972 Miura SV #5080 (white) - 1969 Islero S #6387 (red) - 1974 Urraco P300 silver (no Chassis nb) - etc...
The P300 is likely to be #20128, when you post the Picture I could verify. If possible also those of the White countach. From which Magazine did you get them?
The Ads come from the famous magazine specialized in used collectible & sports cars : "Top's Cars" . Created in July 1987. Still alive today, but now integrated in the MotorLegend group. I'll post some pictures of a few other Ads (Urraco, Jarama, Miura,...), but in their respective thread...
