Just heard an interview with Seb on the F1 app, and he agrees with you. He is certain Ferrari has closed the gap to Merc (he's not known for making empty proclamations)
Hello Ian, Thanks so much for your time. I feel a little bit better hearing that I"m not the only one. I've been doing the same thing, pretty much using a hodge-podge of sites for a comprehensive review. Appreciate your help! Have a great day
No problem, thanks! Thinking a little more on it; - I don't like planetf1. They seem to be the National Enquirer of F1 sites to me. - I very often have Bernie's site (formula1.com) open. Not bad for some news, but probably the best for reference material & fact checking etc. But again, the (newly revamped) Autosport site remains my go to. They'll give you access to a few more news stories if you register (free) but I think I'm about to support them with a subscription - Opens access to a lot more 'in depth' coverage. I guess a lot of it is lifted from their hard copy mag, but I gave up subscribing to that many years back. As a weekly it just takes too long to get here & it's *way* more than I need these days.... When I was working in the game was different, but now I pretty much only follow F1. Cheers, Ian
+1 May subscribe, it largely depends on how interesting this season will be...if it's one sided I won't, if it's close I will!
Very cool! Thanks! Some of its a little tough to make out, but gives a pretty good idea of what these guys are looking at in the garage/on the wall. Would be *so* cool if they'd share it with 'us', even if after the event..... I get they're all really 'secretive' about their data, but where's the harm? I'd need a third screen (one on Fchat, one on timing and one for this!) but would be friggin' *awesome*. Cheers, Ian
Also meant to note it appears to be largely Italian..... All supplied by Ferrari I guess. Not quite sure that's terribly 'fair'. I've said many times, a manufacturer should be a manufacturer, & that includes implementing their own S/W. Sure, the now standard Mclaren ECU comes with much S/W, but that's the same for all. These guys seem to be leveraging Ferrari tech in ways the Manors & Saubers of the world can't. Cheers, Ian
Looking at it more, seems the water temperature is higher *after* going thru the left radiator! That can't be right? Cheers, Ian (The blue window on the RHS.)
Without Autosport full access this appears to have some decent analysis - Formula 1 testing: Vettel set to chase down Mercedes - BBC Sport
Chandhok saying Ferrari is about 2-3 tenths behind. He's normally pretty accurate with his predictions/knowledge. All is not lost.
Agree, Karun is as sharp as they come with this sort of thing. The Ferrari appears to have some upward mobility which will make for an interesting season. Ferrari changed their paradigm to more what they had in the late 90s, which was simply to get the best people no matter who they are and they will make it work. MB did the same thing a few years ago. Should be an interesting next couple of years
the new Ferrari sounds fine ..there are good expectations i hope this year the definitive! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu3MvfBRpiQ[/ame]
+1 And in Vettel they have a true teamleader, a la Schumacher. He'll be able to carry the team, a strong motivator. Don't think he'll move to another team in the future...I'm confident he'll win at least 2 more titles with Ferrari. He's that good, LOVES Ferrari (never made a secret of it). All round cool guy.
Merc has it in the bag. I'll be watching how tightly-packed the midfield is, that's where the entertainment will really be, not upfront, well unless ros & ham take each other out
I respectfully disagree with you. I think it will be very interesting at front especially the first 3-4 positions. We have a capable, motivated and hungry team to win the championship.
