Maybe someone can post a side view package drawing to explain this visually. Front seat occupant is likely a 95 percentile male. The rear passenger is likely a high percentile male too. Where the top of the head for that person is in the package is what is forcing the roofline consideration. Make the back seat for a 10 year old kid (told that is what the 1965 Mustang 2+2 used) and a much more graceful roof would be possible.

Although I have not sat in the back of an FF my suspicion is that it is reasonably comfortable. That means that there is leg room and headroom. This would be quite visible with the package drawing showing the mannequins.

Think of what would happen with a 365/400/412 when there is only a foot of length after the rear tires.

Not saying that the FF/GTC Lusso has made the best solution possible but the package they had to work with created severe limitations.

Can we please have a rule that Photoshop images are referred to as such, NOT as 'design' - however well done the image may be, it is not design.

Photoshop is a tool. It can certainly be used, and is used, to design things.

from my viewpoint, you're both correct.
PShop is indeed a tool, HOWEVER, most PShop efforts are just an assemblage of different parts & pieces, which is not what I would call true designing, it's more like 'customizing'
As a tool ,many designs are rendered using PShop from sketches, and it's a great tool to visualize designs
Many individuals with PShop call themselves designers........but that's not always the case ;)
Just because you assemble different parts from cars or take an existing production car and alter, doesn't necessarily mean you're designing......but then that's a case of semantics

I've always been pedantic about my semantics! ;)

Its only design when your CPU and Ram are embedded in your fatty brain cells and compute through neurons to bring an artists vision to life. :)

Owning a Toyota Previa ("egg shaped van)... I appreciate maximizing space and doing it in style.
When will the general public have access to stylish and comfortable concepts like this Pininfarina hatch...

I think they already did...The Ferrari FF :)...Not sure in "style" though, and general public if you have a couple hundred grand laying around.

I was going to post earlier about how bad this car looks but decided I am always too negative, but since you brought it up....this thing is awful! The Veyron wasn't pretty but it was original and interesting. This is not.

You should only be sold Photoshop if you can demonstrate that you understand that design isn't about drawing pretty pictures.

    not the popular opinion....
on the contrary, anyone with PShop just assumes they're a designer!

Stopped by Art Center in Pasadena today for a look around. Always interesting to see student projects - finished and in process. A Ferrari LMP concept is currently on display in the student gallery done by Marcello Raeli. It is stunning. I had the good fortune to see both the concept in progress several months ago and the finished product today. The idea is a twin turbine electric hybrid. Enjoy!

I've seen that design, and it's very well done.
