Raymond, is this Bonn-registered car a DD or LP500S? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It took a while, but with the help of someone well-informed, my search to identify F 906 ENV has ended. Thank you to the helping party! It is ZA9C005A0HLA12102, a 1987 DD, Bianco Polo Park/Bianco, white caulking, silver wheels, standard exhaust, first registered on May the 9th 1988, resident in London and often seen cruising around the Knightsbridge area where it was first spotted in these images 10 years ago. In the 2nd post of this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144273787-post2.html Aaron Kiley's images of the 1985 DD used by Car & Driver in its 1986 article were posted, but nobody commented on the fact that this (unmodified) car has sun-visors when new. Any DD owners with 85 or 86 cars that have sun-visors? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't know this car, but suppose it's a DD from the Position of the side markers. There are rarely 500s around, from the 321 built many had engine issues from the casting sand.
The position of the front fender side-flashers indicates that it *should* be a DD, but I wondered if you know the car to be sure. Thanks.
This was standard also on the '86 MY, I was wondering if the gutter below the air vent holes was nody color or flat black.
Hello Joe, I was wondering what have you have decided regarding the side mirrors? I notice that in Raymond’s pictures that they were painted in the body color like on the 25th, will you go back to satin black paint since the original plastic finish of the Vitaloni side mirrors was probably compromised during the painting process?
Amen to the abolishment of sloppiness at Lamborghini! Can't wait to see the outcome of your restoration, Joe!
Another good question. Bear in mind that once painted, you either need to stick with painted or find a NOS set which remains in black plastic, because they were never painted satin black. That said, DDs were indeed delivered with painted mirrors. Image Unavailable, Please Login
BTW, proof of DDs delivered with painted mirrors is abundant, for example, this pair of Bianco Perlato DDs imaged when new circa 1986/87 at both Castle Combe & Goodwood http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144311137-post613.html, one of which can be seen spinning out at Goodwood! Another DD that arrived from Italy with painted mirrors was Gerald Carroll's 88.5 JLA12397 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144473244-post1656.html, I was privileged to be there when it was unloaded off the truck with 2 other brand new DDs, a sight for sore eyes! Apologies for the poorly image below. Image Unavailable, Please Login
One more DD that was delivered by the works with painted mirrors was the late 87 HLA12226 new to Alberto Garnerone in Turin, Bianco Perlato (Pearl White) with special leather piping, stitching & inserts, plus Burberry Tartan carpeting. Image Unavailable, Please Login
All the above said, if anyone has a set of unpainted NOS Vitalonis they want to sell, let me know! Image Unavailable, Please Login
At Lamborghini Genève presently with 37,500 km (23,300 miles), Rosso Siviglia/Senape, delivered September 1986, interesting car, obviously repainted, no affiliation. Raymond you wouldn't have the chassis number or be aware of this one previously? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interior appears unmodified, apart from loudspeakers and alarm light, no lighter, can't see radio/cassette Image Unavailable, Please Login
There was a Maserati Bordeaux used in the mid 80's PPG 51214 or Maserati 231.155. Worth a look? Color Codes - Maserati Paint Cross-Reference
