In watching Shmee150's review of the new GTC4 Lusso and a custom California T from Ferrari's Atelier program he showed a new feature which I feel is something that is a long time coming. On every new Ferrari underneath the trunk lid they will be posting a plaque showing that individual car's selected options. This is excellent for future owners who may not have immediate access to the original option list of the car. For my 575 I was only able to find out what the original option list was by going to the local Ferrari dealer with my car's serial # and engine build #(as per advice from Terry). Originally the sales and service department didn't even want to help me, but it was only after purchasing something from the parts department that someone there searched the computer hookup with Ferrari Italy to give me the information on my car.

Not sure that I'd go for this. I can see it might be useful on some occasions but it would be perhaps more discrete to leave that information buried in a menu somewhere and accessible on the infotainment screens.

P.S. Porsche used to put a sticker under the front bonnet/hood with the option codes but they stopped doing that a couple of model generations ago for reasons unknown to me.

I don't think it's an option I think it's going to be standard from now on

Really cool. It shows the importance of being precise and win customers in a hard battle between the brands....

Yes Terry, it is undoubtedly a fully optioned GTC4 Lusso, but then again, its the Geneva Show car that was on display so I am sure Ferrari is wanting to show their "best foot" so to speak. I took a better photo of the options list shown in the same video of a California T from the Ferrari Tailor Made program, because the original photo I posted of it was too blurred to make out. As you can see it has many many more options than the GTC4 Lusso does. If you have a chance and the time to sit through and watch the 12 minute video I recommend it, the colour of Cali T interior is just beautiful on that car.

Clyde- I had seen a Cali T with a white interior bar like the red one on this one. Looks better in red than white to me (she was painted Bianco something). I am guessing the one in the photos was painted the same color as the bar.

    Correct again Terry,
Actually the one shown on Ferrari's own website (see attached) is the same one from the Geneva Show and according to the Geneva Show video from Shmee the exterior colour and interior colour combo and materials on this Tailor Made California T were influenced from an existing Ferrari 250 GT SWB. At the same time Ferrari apparently has taken the opportunity to launch a special handling pack option for the California T called the "HS Handling Option".
Personally I think this is the best looking California of the modern era and the best looking California T I've seen.

    :D

It's nothing more than a build sheet which we used to be able to get for our cars years ago on the FNA website...

Yes I know Barry but in recent years Ferrari removed the ability to search it on their website and those of us who have not been fortunate to be able to purchase their Ferrari's new are only able to get a copy of this build sheet by visiting their local Ferrari dealer and requesting them to provide it. Some Ferrari dealers (like my local one) are not initially willing to provide this information. Both the local Ferrari sales department and service department where I had my car serviced were not willing to do a simple hook up with their computer to Ferrari HQ to provide the build sheet of my car. It was only after I purchased something from the parts department and casually asked the person working there if they would do it for me that that particular person was kind enough to provide me the build sheet.

It's a shame this happened to you, Clyde. I hate when dealerships cop attitudes like that!

Yes Barry, but I think they are the ones that ultimately suffer for it. It's due to this that many local Ferrari owners end up servicing their Ferrari's at other local exotic car shops, like the one where I purchased my Ferrari. It may also be the reason why this other shop was able to hire a former Ferrari F1 mechanic (Massimo Conti) as opposed to the Ferrari dealer.
