I've asked this, when at the factory and indirectly through industry/engineers.

As of right now, Apple CarPlay is not supported wirelessly (yet). It's less about Ferrari (or Porsche, it's probably more about Apple. As recently as CES, it was still unclear how the wireless will play out (even though the hardware and software are capable). A lot of primary (eg. getting the right HW and licensing into vehicles, Wifi vs. BT) and secondary (privacy, security). IIRC a few OEM's have already demo'd it, I know VW tried.

As for CarPlay on the "small screen", while it's not touch, it still works as long as you can use the rotary dial. For us, the applications and simplicity are great, and while the native Ferrari (i.e. Harman) voice control is good, Siri is getting better and better. Unfortunately it's a relatively pricey options, but we've ordered it. By the time we get the car, hopefully the app landscape has increased..

sorry - YES, to your question, the car at the Atelier had a USB port for a "wired" connection, identical to our FF with CarPlay.

You BF car looks great. Congratulations.

Without wishing to sound negative, I think this car is just so 'hot', you will really have to work very hard to produce a bad looking spec. Some of the schemes I saw at TM were pretty individual and yet even they looked great. To think of some of the negative comments on our first sightings, when now, to me at least, I think this is one of the greatest designs to roll out from Maranellos since the 275.

    A Classic.

+1 as well. At first I thought it was too intense compared to the f12 but since it's release I have assimilated to the vision that caused all the decisions and would have to put it up there as one of the most interesting Supercars ever made. Without doubt one of the best more recent "front" engined Supercars. I think it surpasses the 599 GTO due to physical dimensions and the fact it didn't follow the gtb version so closely. (I still want the GTO and tdf in my garage:)). The standard f12 looks kind of "boring" in comparison even though it still is a beautiful car. I'm really looking forward to the f12 successor.

I've owned a 599 GTB, and today a 599 GTO. But never an F12. What the renders and pics can't express is how much smaller the tdf is versus the GTO. And I wanted to factor the tdf's physical size versus the GTO into the equation when creating its spec.

Beyond its dramatic driving experience, the 599 GTO has tremendous on road presence because of its size. While the tdf will trump the GTO's performance, I'm looking forward to it complementing the GTO with its relative compactness. Best of both Worlds. Like having a Mike Tyson join the same training camp as a George Foreman ;)

so it is smaller than the gto? what about the size compared to f12? i always thought that the f12 looks too big compared to the 599 but then i only saw both of them side by side together in photo, never in person.

Certainly the gto has incredible presence and even more so when there are other cars next to it. Today as in the gto is a recent purchase? If so which one did you get as I imagine it would be quite an interesting spec given your sophisticated tastes.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything from tortesq as the gto word has been mentioned more than once in recent posts;).

Thanks for the flattery, my wife would agree with you ;)

I bought my GTO new in January 2011, having had a GTB from 2007. Kept the two until early 2014 when I let the GTB go. She was in Silverstone and looked beautiful, a colossal GT.

With my GTO I went Ferro body, Silverstone roof, aluminium callipers and carbon bits. FWIW she's my wife's favourite.
