I get a message that the COTAexperiences website is a phishing one. Anyone know if it is 100% legit? Coming from Australia for my first Austin GP.

I think the one that gave that error was just an old/inactive one, an earlier version. I posted an updated link above. Try that one.

Other COTA news...I can't help but think this item is related to the above story:

    Hi,

I have done a little research. It appears this is a company out of NC marketing themselves as COTAExperiences. Not actually related to the track itself, which is not promoting F1 as yet on its events page Circuit of The Americas

If you book any of the events at COTA via their website it redirects to ticketmaster and NOT Cotaexperiences so I would be very wary! I am holding off until tickets are officially released via the F1 or COTA site.

You're talking about Quint Events, the company COTA works with to do their package deals as, you guessed it, COTAExperiences. They've done this for years. They link directly to COTA Experiences on their website. Go along the top of the COTA website, hover on Experience, then click on Experiences by Quint Events. That takes you straight to Circuit of The Americas Experiences .

Taylor Swift to perform after 2016 F1 USGP? That was the rumor around the track yesterday.

Hearing through thegrapevine that COTA & Austin Mayor Steve Adler will announce tomorrow that the F1 USGP will stay in Austin for 2016. They may announce Taylor Swift as the musical act for the race as well.

T Swift as post race entertainment=preemptive strike at keeping fans from going to Mexico GP (or losing interest altogether)

    Do you really think so?

How many F1 fans even know who Taylor Swift is? I know I don't! ;)

Hopefully she'll encourage a few more attendees, I guess younger ones, which has gotta be good.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Sure, a bunch of teenage girls. Sounds like a great source of F1 ticket buyers. That should be a recipe for success.

WTF? Did Epstien let his teenage daughter pick the entertainment? She's a no talent singer with throngs of teenagers for fans.

Sorry but Sir Elton was a better pick. Little wonder that place has had so many problems...they're brain dead.

I really hope this race stays on the calendar. One of the best venues for the spectators to go to.

You think Elton brought in more money than what Taylor can?

So the Scotsman was only about two hours ahead of her!

Austin is just a big ol' small town.
    Elroy is even smaller!!

You really had to want to spend another four hours stomping in mud, to stay for Elton.

Most fans I saw were digging their cars out of the lawn, at that point..
    We did not stay....

How many years, since Elton was even on the charts??

4 extra hours?? We watched the traffic jam from the amphitheater. All we did was miss a couple of hours idling in a monumental traffic jam. I guess the designers of the track thought Scotty was going to beam everybody there because they sure didn't do any planning for that many cars to come and go.
The group I was with wanted to see him so I was there. There were a hell of a lot of F1 fan, money spending ticket buyers. Not teenage girls. They would do better blowing off the music and trying to fix the unfinished broken crap all over the facility.

In the end it makes no difference to me. I live 25 or so miles away and already turned down free tickets. I like the place that much.
