Here are a couple of pics from an online friend who attended the show. It would be awesome if it is indeed a local car...Charlotte doesn't seem to have as many hypercars as Raleigh does even though there are far more exotics overall in Charlotte. https://www.flickr.com/photos/cltothetl32/24768137651/in/dateposted/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/cltothetl32/24835312226/in/photostream/
Sorry for the double post, but if anyone's interested, there was a white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (2013 refresh) parked on Glenwood Ave in downtown Raleigh right near Peace St about an hour ago. Seen it there a couple times now, and I think its owner might own one of the restaurants there.
Saw a black 997 Porsche 911 GT3 with orange wheels and stripes on the side that read "GT3 RS" at the Wells Fargo Bank in Waverly Place today a little after 1:00. The wing was wrong which is why I'm pretty sure it's a regular GT3.
Spotted two defenders this weekend. One in Charlotte, and the other at crowders mountain. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those things are the coolest! Somewhat coincidentally, I will be at Crowder's Mountain in mid April. Do you know of any good roads to drive on, or places to look for cars in that area?
There's a white Defender all done up that is at Another Broken Egg in Southpark with some regularity in the mornings - probably there for one of the networking groups that meets there. I see it a couple of times per month.
It's been awhile since I've been on but I finally have some sightings for you guys. Yesterday morning a black Rolls Royce Phantom at the intersection of Rea Road and Ballantyne Commons. Yesterday evening a burgandy Ferrari 365 GTC/4 at the corner of Elm lane and Bryant Farms road. Seen it a few times now over the last year or so. Really cool car that I really need to hear the engine running! Anyone else seen this running around? This evening a red Ferrari 458 on Rea Road. I believe it was an Italia but it could have been a Speciale, it was too dark out to be sure. Also saw a black Ferrari 360 Spider at 131 Main tonight.
The 365 has been in Charlotte for several years now. Owner has a few Ferraris. The car will sound better soon as we are going to do some repair to the excellent but aged exhaust system.
Apologies for the ridiculously large post, but I've been crazy busy lately, and since I'm posting a couple F cars, might as well mention some notable non-F cars... Monday, March 7th, in Ballantyne: -Silver Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster at about 3:00 pm in the Ballantyne Commons East plaza. -White Maserati GranTurismo MC turning north onto Johnston Rd from Ballantyne Commons Pkwy at about 3:15 pm. Only the fourth MC I've seen on the streets, and the first for me in well over a year. Wednesday, March 9th, in Uptown: -Insanely rare silver Audi R8 V10 Competition at Uptown Cabaret at 9:00 pm. Audi only produced the Competition for the 2015 model year, and only sent 60 of them to the U.S. -Orange McLaren 650S Spider and silver Rolls-Royce Ghost at Ritz Carlton at about 9:30 pm. First 650S I have ever seen in person. Saturday, March 12th, in the general Charlotte area: -Silver Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster with Tennessee plates on Catawba Rd at Jetton Rd at about 9:00 am. -Grey Aston Martin DB9 Volante turning onto Catawba Rd from Jetton Rd about five minutes later. -Black Ferrari California turning onto Jetton Rd from Catawba Rd at about 10:15. I was at Cars & Coffee when those three drove past. -Grey first-gen Lamborghini Gallardo with a second-gen front end at the Peninsula Club at about 10:45. It said Superleggera on the side, but I've heard it's not an SL. -Dark red SRT Viper turning left onto Jetton Rd from Catawba Rd at 11:30. -Dark grey BMW i8 at Birkdale Village just before noon. Looked like it was a promotional vehicle from one of the BMW dealerships. -Black Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster at the Specialty Shops in Southpark just before 6:00 pm. Out of all the Aston Martins I have seen, this one was my favorite; black with black roof, graphite diamond-turned 10-spoke forged wheels, and six speed manual. Exactly how I'd have my Vantage Roadster. -Silver Mansory Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster passed me heading north on Graham St and turned right onto 10th St. Monday, March 14th, in Cornelius: -Silver Ferrari 458 Spider at Stein Mart off of Catawba Rd near I-77 at 12:20. Plus a couple Maseratis and Bentleys scattered around on various days. Might try to put a few of those on Flickr if anyone wants to see higher-quality images of anything, because the quality really got killed on here. Yesterday in Cary I saw a silver Aston Martin V8 Vantage drive into Harris Teeter at Kildaire Farm and Tryon. The driver looked like the same guy who has been in that black 997 911 GT3 with orange accents and RS stripes. Sounded glorious and was a six speed. Not sure what's going on but I believe that's the sixth Aston Martin I've seen in the last two weeks.
Nick. I have a good friend who took delivery of a sliver/grey AM a couple of months ago. he lives a couple miles from the RBC Center in Raleigh.
Any chance he has or had a dark colored 458 Italia? I saw one over on Edwards Mill Rd by Wade Ave once. Couldn't tell if it was black, dark grey, or dark blue. Other than that 458, I haven't seen too many exotics in that area, but I will keep a look out for the Aston and will make sure to mention on here if I see it.
No Nick. He does not have a Ferrari. He has a DB 9 in a color very similar to Silverstone and has a tan interior.
Couple more recent sightings. Tuesday, March 22nd: Black Acura NSX at the Peninsula Club in Cornelius at about 4:10. White BMW i8 headed west on Gilead Rd in Huntersville right near Statesville Rd (US 21) at about 4:30. Wednesday, March 23rd: Black Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster turned onto Kings Dr from Queens Rd in front of the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte just before noon. Matte grey Aston Martin DB9 turned on Queens Rd at Providence Rd in Myers Park at about 1:00. Grey Lamborghini Gallardo headed north on Graham St in Charlotte at 2:45. It turned left onto Atando Ave. Was the same one I saw in the Peninsula Club a couple weeks back. Not sure who would want to drive their Lamborghini on such a bumpy road. Thursday, March 24th: Bright blue SRT Viper parked next to a white Nissan GT-R in the MacGregor Shopping Center in Cary at about 10:30 last night. The Viper looked like it had been parked there for a while, as it had a coating of pollen on it. The blue looked really good on it.
Thought that might be the case. Sounded like it had the six speed manual? I have seen a couple of cars at that intersection, including a white Ferrari California, that may have possibly been coming from the hospital.
Wednesday, March 30th, in Raleigh: -Grey Mercedes-AMG GT S Edition 1 on Hillsborough St in the midst of NC State at about noon. -Silver Audi R8 V10 Spyder (2014 refresh) on St. Mary's St near Morgan St. I have seen a white BMW i8 parked in the same spot. -White BMW i8 (probably the same one I was just talking about) in the lot at the end of St. Mary's St at Hargett St. Saturday, April 2nd, in Charlotte: Aside from the spectating cars at Motori Italiani, which are too numerous to list.... -Red Ferrari 360 turned into Blakeney Plaza in Charlotte at about 12:30. I thought for sure it would at the very least end up being another spectator, but instead it drove over and parked by Target, then left shortly thereafter, so I don't think it was connected to Motori Italiani. -White Mercedes-AMG GT S Edition 1 (two in one week!) on Rea Rd at Ardrey Kell Rd as I was leaving Motori Italiani shortly after 1:00. I then saw it drive past Whole Foods while I was eating lunch on the veranda about an hour and a half later, then saw it again in the valet at the Southpark Mall about 30 minutes after that. -White Lamborghini Countach drove past Whole Foods on Sharon Rd while I was eating lunch on the veranda at about 1:40. I saw it parked at The Beer Growler on South Blvd in South Blvd a couple hours later. -Matte white Maserati GranTurismo MC with white-lipped black wheels outside of Dick's Sporting Goods at the Southpark Mall. -Dark blue Ferrari 360 Spider with a weird looking aftermarket hood and chromed five-spoke wheels parked in front of Sloan at that apartment/shopping complex right outside of the Southpark Mall. I didn't like the hood or wheels, but I can give the owner at least some kudos for the sweet six speed gated manual gearbox. Plus a bazillion Aston Martins, Maseratis, Bentleys, and Nissan GT-Rs running around. Tuesday, April 5th: -White Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350 at Ben & Jerry's on Providence Rd in Myers Park in Charlotte. Yes, I know it has the "wrong" horse badge on it, but it does have a flat-plane crankshaft just like another car with a horse logo and revs past 8,000 rpm... -SRT Viper behind me on Graham Newton Rd at Ten-Ten Rd in Apex (according to Google) at about 10:00 pm. I think it might have been that same bright blue one I saw a couple weeks ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool sightings Nick! Haven't seen a new GT350 in person yet - hopefully I'll see the one you saw running around here soon. Saw a Rolls Royce Wraith cruising through downtown Fort Mill Saturday afternoon.
Thanks Chris! On Sunday, April 10th, I saw a silver Aston Martin DB9 at Locked & Loaded in Garner (off of U.S. 70) at a little before 5:00 pm. I've seen this one around a couple times now and it has (or at least use to have) an Indiana plate. Today, April 11th, I saw a red Alfa Romeo 4C on Hillsborough St in Raleigh at about 4:00 pm.
