Classiche09.com are former Ansa workers. They have their factory in Modena. I bought the exhaust from them. Francesco P.s that is a thick rubber strap with a steel edge they give with the exhaust. Some modifications are needed as there is a little space among exhaust and other components down there.
Thank you for the photos Ivan. Do you have experience with different kind of belts ? Which ones do you prefer, automatic or manual ? Can you recommend a (European) facturer for 3-point belts ? What is the total length of the belts when mounting in the compartment as shown on your photos? Regards Alfred
Hello Hiltsuk... I am a little late with these pictures. But better late than never, and they still may help you.. Attached are three picturs of the upper seatbelt attachment point on my Ghibli SS.. First photo shows position with cover in place.. Second photo shows position with cover removed Third photo shows the attachment point itself. Looks like a nut welded to a round tab, which in turn was welded to the interior panel. Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I do not know seat belt manufacturers in Europe. There are several in the USA and you can ask them if they have a European distributor: Buy Replacement Seat Belts | SeatBeltsPlus.com https://www.seatbeltplanet.com/ Installing a retractable 3 point belt on a Ghibli spyder is probably a challenge. The retraction mechanism relies on inertia to lock the belt and must be mounted in a specific orientation. I doubt the cramp location on the spyder would provide adequate room to mount the mechanism correctly. I have never tried it but that would be my guess. My 3 point belt is 2 feet long on the short side and 7 feet on the long side. It looks like this one: 3 Point Seat Belt With Chrome Lift Latch BTW: On the Ghibli the factory 3 point belt was absolutely terrible! In an accident it is more likely to choke you than protect you. Later cars, such as the Khamsin and Bora, were a vast improvement. Ivan
Hi Mike. I have used this company in Middlesex previously, although not on Maserati. Seat Belt Repairs | Seat Belt Replacement | Seat Belt Refurbishment Quick Fit SBS Ltd I thought they were excellent FWIW. maybe worth your getting in touch with them. Regards. Mark.
Just an update on the exhaust. Timevalve in the US will make a quad Ansa exhaust for $1800. Cost to ship to Europe is $800. Delivery in 4 weeks.
Are there any mods that need to happen to fit a quad exhaust to a Ghibli that previously didn't have one? Chris
Chris... I am interested in this question as well.. Ivan may have done this, so perhaps he will know.... Mike
No big mods. Just need to drill a hole to support the right rear tips. I supplied a photo some time ago. Look at this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/maserati/343601-ghibli-quad-exhaust.html Will be traveling for a month therefore I will go dark for some time. Ivan
Parked next to a Stradale today at the dealership before having a great test drive in one. Very odd to go from that back to the Ghibli for the drive home, but the sound and the experience of the Ghibli can't be beaten. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My epic restoration is on the finishing straight, so i thought i'd post some recent photos. I'd have liked to have shown more on this thread, but have never got round to it! if anybody wants any close ups of any part of the car just let me know. I've also managed to stockpile a load of parts, be they duplicates, NOS that I haven't used, or parts I've upgraded due to condition, etc. I haven't started a list yet, but if there's anything particular anyone is looking for please PM me and I might be able to help, or at least I'll have a good idea of where to look, having been on the treasure hunt myself over the past few years!! Looks good, I'd love to see it when you are finished. My car is now running well and just having some final snagging ahead of a hopefully a good Summer season. Do you have spare door sills or an internal mirror by any chance? When do you expect to finish?
No spare sills I'm afraid. There are some Bora/Merak mirrors on eBay - not sure if they are the same? The car should be finished mid-April, then three weeks fitting the interior, then a good shakedown, so June is the target, or failing that Classic Le Mans in July!
