458 Pricing.

Where do you guys thing 458 coups price will level off at? For clean low mileage red cars?

 

Ignoring any financial shocks, given 430s staying in the low 100s (mileage variations) I think 130 - 150 will be nadir that will hold for a while. I am not saying 130 to 150 will occur anytime soon however. Right now High 100s is the norm.

My 2015 low mile coupe is still worth in the mid 200s I believe. I think high 100s for a 2010-11, higher miles , poorly optioned perhaps

 

They are still high....maybe in the 10 year mark you will see 458 in the 120's

 

If you can buy a 458 for $175ish, you will lose very little over the next 5 years.

 

More than an F430.

$150K sounds about right in the short term. Long-term? $100K probably.

 

Speculation threads. I've read about them here since 2007. Good cars still bring good money. They will level out somewhere above 430s but no one knows.

Go buy a car and don't worry about future prices. You won't regret it.

 

Speculation thread again. Hard to predict barring a financial collapse. I would predict $12k lower than current asking prices in fall/winter.

 

Good 2011 still bring 210k. Good 2010 200k.

True, but there is a bit of a divide between "GT" and "sport". The "sport" people only want cars with sport seats, and the "GT" people won't want a car unless it has some sort of electrically adjustable seats.

Those in the electric seat camp will want the full electric seats with memory positions. Even if they are the sole driver, it's convenient to be able to easily restore all settings after a service. These buyers usually want many of the convenience items, too, such as parking sensors and cameras, lifter, AFS, etc.

The sport seats crowd tends to want fewer convenience items but their options seem all over the place. Some get the lifter but many do not, many pass on the parking sensors or get the sensors but no rear camera, etc. Maybe their original owners who spec'd the cars wanted something more track-focused, at least until the Speciale came along, or they still do because those cars are so hard to get/expensive.

So, I think well-optioned cars sell better if they have electric seats, while it seems to matter less if a car is well-optioned if it has sport seats.

Most everyone wants the LED steering wheel, so a car without it is a tough sell, no matter which seats it has.

A theory, anyway. And if you subscribe to it, it is a useful rule of thumb if ordering a car.

I have been looking for a few months---seems like the lowest prices I have seen advertised on the web is $175k for a low option, "high-ish" mileage (26,000) 2010.

Most nicely optioned 2010's with 8-12K miles are still $199k-$205K, with 2011's about $10-15K more.

 

I dont get the sense that moving 458s is hard to do talking to my dealer here in ny. Lack of a winter kept the matket strong and theyre expecting a very active spring. Incredible amount of car for 200k. They also noted 430s holding very stable in f1 form and i think weve seen that here on fchst as well. 430 sticks obviously commanding material premiums

 

Agreed! However I see some adjustment as more 488'***** the coast! I don't subscribe to the theory that people will not want to try the next generation model. I to once said "I would never sell my 430" and yet here I am looking for another toy lol

 

just sold my 2011 458 306 msrp.. 2500 miles for 200k.... and it hurt to get rid of

 

I have seen very well optioned cars 2011 range for 175 to 185k. I think 175k is where you will find a value deal. I think we will get there by summer. New 488s are going to drop this market down for sure.

 

people have been saying that for a year now and we've yet to have anyone post about a low mile car less than 200k.

Yes there out there but these prices 175/180 are somewhat higher mileage.
Are not very well optioned or off colors.
The better ones are getting all the money..for sure.
The cost of money is low so will keep the cars in the upper levels for sure.

Had my 458 more than half a year now and asking prices are still close to what it was then (maybe 5k less?). In the meanwhile I got to enjoy mine as much as I can. As for my 430 spider the prices are the same as they were about a year ago.

They're out there. About 2-3 weeks ago I posted about a 2010 458, very nicely optioned, with 15k miles asking $179k (or maybe it was $185k) at a Florida Ferrari dealer. Since then, I've seen lower mile examples pop up on autotrader.com in that same price range. Most asking prices are right around $200k but make a no BS offer and I'm sure many of those 458s can be had for 10% less without any drama.
