Good day Robert, Wow...simply wow! It is like stepping back in time to when the car came off the assembly line! Absolutely stunning! Cheers, Sam
Rob, you have done your parents proud. Al and Brian have done you right. And you make me ENVEYOUS Stephen
Me too! Good thing you have a driver to go along with your show car.... But pretty much, you have two show cars
Car looks superb. In 1975 I had a choice of fabric/suede or leather interior, what are they talking about? They are right about the firewall. I love the XWX's and note the ORIGINAL Dino boot badge. Well done. Waz.
Dom, Very cool! Thanks to all for your kind words I havent even seen the car yet, just as you all have. There are a few little things Al is taking care of and then its on the way back to sunny California! I may need some help from you guys. It has the early wheels with hub caps not sure how to get them off safely! It also has the early distributors without the splines! I had a brand new set of those a I sold a few years ago! Cant wait!
That GT4 looks amazing! I restored my Original Cromodora wheels but have not been able to remove the hubcaps without slightly damaging the paint on the wheels. You will not see it tough with the hubcaps in place. One question about the rubber bumper part, it looks different than mine, in the picture of the rear end of the car the rubber extends over the underside of the chrome bumper part, I have seen the same for the front. Attached is a picture of my bumper which I think is still the original since some of the mountings at the back are a bit rusted. Image Unavailable, Please Login
ROB!! Boy did I get ahold of you with perfect timing!! Good thing you told me to get back on Fchat again and check out your (this) post/thread! I just spent the last hour readying through it.... and I can't believe I'll get to come over and check out this car!!! Talk about perfect timing!! When's it arriving in Ventura?? Sounds like any day now. You need to stop working those 12hr shifts, so when I drive by your house I can see you in the garage (so I can stop in & say hi). I'm so happy for U Rob. ;o) I've seen you a few times last summer driving around town, on a perfectly sunny... perfect day. ;o) Now when I see you driving, I won't know which car you're driving!!! ;o) 2 red Dinos. Nice.
Thanks to all! Al syas there were several different types of bumpers, he has had a bunch of GT4's so should know the ones on there came with my car with the rubber wrapped around the metal part! Rob
Rob's bumper is different to my Euro 74 that I bought new in 75. The rubber on mine fits inside the chrome outer, front and back. Yours looks similar to mine. Interesting. To get he hub caps off make yourself a slide hammer like the black thing in the photo. It pops the caps off onto a towel or something soft and does not damage the wheels or the caps. Waz. Oooh, let's start a conspiracy theory... This is the million dollar tool that every tool kit is supposed to have but nobody actually does! Leak the word to Piezo, and then start manufacturing "vintage" tools for the underworld.
All, Al says there are several versions of the bumpers. I have pics of the original car from another source and it has these same ones. Al has done a fantastic job. I am lucky to get this car and even luckier to be his friend! Rob Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rob, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for you! Wish I had never parted with my GT4. Someday, Al will build one for my garage. Can't wait to hear about it when it arrives home. JIM
