Just sorted my tickets - anyone else? Best historic racing anywhere..
I will have to go one day when I am retired. Tweed hat and all. I don't have time for anything these days....
Bit confusing, some are referring to the Goodwood Festival of Speed and others are talking about the Goodwood Revival. I'm going to neither this year
both are fabulous events, but loved to death - you won't believe the crowds and the traffic. Revival is great for the aircraft, atmosphere and the racing - provided you have a good position to watch and aren't standing behind 6 layers of people at the railing. FoS is old cars through to recent F1, opportunity to chat to drivers and owners, exciting to watch and they have a great rally stage at the top of the hill. Hint: hang out at the top of the hillclimb, where the cars wait to go back down the hill, great photo and chatting opportunities. Biggest downfall is the weather. If it rains, both venues turn into mud pits. Pack a spare pair of old shoes...
Sorry, I was talking Revival - Ian's right about the weather, I get a couple of roving grandstand passes for just that reason. Been to FOS a couple of times, both are wonderful. I'd like to rent a suitable car for the weekend - Mk 2 Jag would be perfect - any ideas?
