That's a good point. This isn't fraud on a huge scale. It's still fraud, but it's somewhat pathetic in its ambition. It's less of a Ponzi scheme, and more of a Fonzie scheme. this is from his days in LA, where he did take a few doctors for north of a million dollars. ( confirmed direct from the victims) they had give him 20% of the money he stole for him to stop fighting it in court..

Kiesan, You know things take time, an investigation this size takes a lot of time. If it's a cross border or cross country, it may take a few years. And the amount of crumbs Reza is leaving behind only makes it easier for them.
Circa 2012 I recall reading that he had been active in LA/California seeking investment for his fund where he invested the money (and subsequently blew it on ridiculous trades). There were several accusations which were than taken off the web. I think there may be some truth to the poster's claims... this is much before the CTM brokerage/Mentortips scam and people still thought he was some sort of investing prodigy - have a look at this thread from the beginning and the one in OffTopic.

here is a ripoff report from around that time.. ill post the whole thing here, in case it gets taken down... the original complaint it removed under threat of lawsuit so the original writer had to write a sorry letter.... This letter is a follow-up to my post which I made on October 8, 2011. When I originally wrote the report I acknowledged that I would NOT be able to remove it afterwards and I have tried to take this report down but RipOffReport has their rules to prohibit that so I am updating it instead. First and foremost my sincerest apologies goes out to Reza Mokhtarian for what I wrote. I met Reza in California in March of 2011, at the time he was managing a Forex fund which was doing extremely well. I approached him with the intentions of doing business with him and raising capital for him and after discussing it with him, Reza opted to not get involved with my company as I was not Regulated and he did not want to partake in activities that could cause red flags for his business. He was genuine, honest and clearly had solid work ethic by denying my money because I was not Regulated properly to do business. That is when I turned vindictive and tried to harm his reputation. I shortly afterwards lost all of the money I had raised with another bogus trader in London, England and as a result decided to take my anger out on Reza by making a FALSE REPORT against him in hopes of destroying his business out of jealousy and envy because he was still doing well and I had lost my accounts. I now look back and am ashamed of what I did to an honest guy and want to extend my most sincerest apologies to Reza, his family and his friends or anyone else that was hurt by my remarks. I am amazed at how many people occupy themselves with being jealous. Can you people even afford to rent a Ferrari / Lambo or pay for the gas? But some of you like to attack Reza because he is successful. If you are feeling jealous, then go see a shrink because you need help.

What is your relationship with Reza? Do you work for him? What if any information can you provide to refute the rumors of fraud that so predominantly exist? We would be very grateful if you could put to rest these charges of fraud, as we all know Reza deep down is a great guy whom only tries to help people. Repos of his cars aside, and loss of his home due to unpaid bills, obviously he showered the unfortunate with so much of his own money that he didn't have enough to pay is own bills!! Now that right there is one fine gentlemen!
