I don't do much night driving so I'm sticking with the yellow tach. Yellow tach always says Ferrari to me.

Very nice indeed - however since you are into silver brake calipers, why not go std black instead and save a few bucks?

He's talking about replacing the entire bridge piece, not only the shields. This means you have a bridge piece with indentations for shields with shields and one without indentations and no shields. Both pieces will of course be painted.

Thanks for the code and thank you all for the advice on how to best spec my car. This is a first time experience for me with Ferrari.

I think you're going to really enjoy it! Congratulations! I wonder if the dealer could set up a factory visit and final spec in Maranello for you / if you have the time and willingness to travel. If yes, then its a worth while experience. But you likely will spend some more money because when you are there its hard to not add things!

Suggestion: write everything down- have a spreadsheet or notes. And make sure to double and triple check the build with the dealer.

The dealer asked me if I was interested in a factory tour in July. Might be tough for my July schedule. We shall see. I plan to double and triple check the spec before it locks...especially the stuff like the stripe that is the extra stuff that has no code in the configurator. I forgot the Italian term they use for customization.

    LOL

It will likely go under "SPEC (special features)" and/ or be called "Extra Campionario"

If you can make a tour date, you should. You will love it! You could always just order it now and then go and see the factory apart from this. Either way congratulations on the new car. Its really beautiful!

Yes that is what I meant, 2 sets of bridges, one with shields/indentations with one without.
    Both painted in the factory.
The one with sheilds showing up on the build sheet as somebody else suggested.
    Apologies if it wasn't clear.

A lot of "Extra Campionario" I would imagine. ;) I'm getting my shields...no spare set of air bridges.

The reason I changed from Grigio Chiaro (lighter) to Grigio Scuro (darker) stitch is because the seat stripe is available in Scuro but not Chiaro. What is one to do...go with a white stripe and Chiaro stitch or Scuro stitch and scuro stripe or drop the stipe all together and just do chiaro stitch ???

My concern with lighter stitch like yellow, white, maybe chiaro, the stitch on the dash board reflects on the windshield. I find it a bit distracting(yellow stitch) in my 458. I'm hoping scuro reduces the reflective effect. I still have about 10 days to make changes. The stitch/stripe issue is really the only thing subject to change.

Does your dealer have an Atelier? If not maybe you can direct this question to the people at the Atelier in Manhattan or FNA?

I understand your point about the stitching reflecting. Given that your choice makes the most sense- and its the safest choice.

However, if you wanted to go with the more contrasting stitching then I don't think it would be a problem with the Scuro seat stripe (which I think you should keep). The stitch is so much smaller than the stripe and are not really next to each other. Your eyes will bridge the gap just fine. I think the difference will be far lower than the wheel caps in standard yellow vs the shield or when you even have yellow calipers.

At this point I'm inclined to leave the build alone. The only possible exceptions...adding back the rear back up cam and deleting the $16,000 engine bay carbon fiber. Being that my 458 has a full carbon engine bay, this may be hard to do. I just may have to suck it up for that cost along with my $3500 interior coffee cup holder...lol

I agree with Caeruleus as I had the lighter stitching combining with a charcoal alcantara inserts in black against a GT exterior. Apologies for the poor iPhone shot but it is all I have to hand.

    Beautiful interior!

FWIW, my advice is to get the backup camera. As to the CF- we all know its very expensive for what it is. You could probably find after market pieces that would look every bit as good for a substantial savings- maybe even 50% of that cost. BUT- it wouldn't be factory. Lets face it, none of these things is truly a "need" in the sense of food and shelter. These are all "wants". If its in the budget and you want it, go for it :)
