I am replacing the window channels on my GT4. The old channels were lined rubber. The replacements I have are much more rigid and aluminum or steel is included in the core of the rubber. You can see the metal core in he picture. What do I use to cut this material? Everything I have tried just tears it apart. Thanks.

I used a fine blade saw, compresed air, high speed. Cut it like butter.

Peter, thanks for your reply. Please explain more. What type of saw, what type of blade, how did compressed air help?

I tried several different power saws, hack saw, snips, garden cutters. On the power saws I filled the channnel with 3mm plywood to prevent the sides from bending in. All with same result...a ragged, useless cut end.

Angle grinder did the job. I put a strip of plywood in the groove, clamped it to a work surface and ground the angle I needed. An extra benefit was the heat from the grinding softened the rubber so it could be molded to a perfect shape.

The secret is the speed of the cutting wheel......Dremel with saw blade, something like that.

I agree the old one was all rubber, are you sure you have the right part?

Although if you look at the ends of the OEM window fuzzies, (on the door) they simply cut them off, and dabbed some sealer on the ends.

High speed, small toth sawblade and I found it easier if you turn the U-shaped channel upside down and start with the outside of the U and end with the wings.
